I have been very pleased with this stick vacuum! It is lightweight and very versatile between cleaning hardwood and carpet. It also does great with stairs and getting into crevices and below furniture. The attachments are minimal, but well selected. A crevice tool, small roller brush head for furniture, and the wider rigid tool are all I need, in addition to the primary head. The cord is a bit stiffer than I would prefer, but it does not impede my ability to vacuum the floors in my home. I was keen to get a corded vacuum to avoid potentially losing power with a dying battery or being down due to charging. So I would gladly trade consistent vacuum suction for a stiffer cord. Something I really appreciate is how easy it is to disassembly portions of the vacuum to clean and/or maintain. The filters are easy to remove and clean, which helps maintain the aforementioned suction consistency. I had one instance where the suction was falling short, and I found a little door on the bottom of the vacuum head and upon opening found a blockage. That was easy to remove and I was back to full power. All in all, I think this is a great stick vacuum and well worth the price.

I honestly love this vacuum and the quality is top notch. It understandably has too much power for the thinner rugs and it pulls them into a heap but on bare floors and the thick living room rug with a deep pile?It’s the best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever owned.I’m currently using a wheelchair but can walk and stand if I’m very careful and this vacuum is extremely easy for me to use because it has excellent weight balance and functionality.So if you have physical issues you might be able to use this vacuum more easily than others.It also stays upright very well when you’re not using it.The cord is a bit of a pain because it’s so stiff and I have neuropathy in my hands so I’ll have to struggle with that for a while but I don’t need it to look perfect and it can be a little messy for now.It’s also a lot more quiet than any other vacuum I’ve had and I love that because I have a husband who works from home and he asked me to please only use my old vacuum once a week because it was so irritating.I’m clumsy so I need to vacuum almost daily!So…me and my klutziness are very pleased with the purchase. ;)

Bought this stick vacuum based on reviews after my 20 plus year old kenmore elite upright bit the dust. No pun intended! Received it and had it assembled and using in about 15 minutes. I had watched a couple of video reviews so I was familiar with assembly which is simple. This vacuum works very well. Picks up debris in both directions, super light and very maneuverable. The cord is a little stiffer than I like but not a problem. Self propel works great on carpet. Super good at picking up animal hair. Basically it works great for my needs. The one real downside to this vacuum is its very small container that catches the debris. This means you have to empty more often. It’s easy and quickly removed for emptying but would be nice if a little bit larger capacity. Overall I really like it and I’m glad I bought it.

I'm absolutely blown away by this vacuum. I own two upright vacuums, a Kirby and a Hoover, also two handheld portable vacuums, and I hated to vacuum. It was always a cumbersome chore. I have arthritis in both wrists and it was hard to carry those vacuums around. I avoided vacuuming my house! Yesterday I assembled the Shark Powerdetect and FELL IN LOVE! It is lightweight, powerful and extremely user friendly. It's easy to go from handheld back to upright, and the suction is outstanding. I don't know if it's because I didn't vacuum very much before, but I've gotten a tremendous amount of dirt and pet hair up. ( I own two large dogs and 4 cats). I especially like the way the vacuum moves, and it easily goes under countertops. If I need to get into a corner I can easily detach the powerhead with the wand to make an instant handheld. Literally taking seconds. As I've told my husband, it's the best thing I've ever bought for my house.

This is a well-made stick vacuum. It stands up perfectly by itself. The cord is very long. It picks up dog hair and dirt like nothing I’ve ever seen. It does not clog, and is easy to empty each time I use it. I tried to go with the Shark Rocket, but most Shark stick vacuums don’t stand up by themselves, and that did not work for me. I am 71 years old, and it is lightweight and very easy to push and take from room to room. It is worth the extra money. It’s ridiculous to have a vacuum that won’t stand up on its own, this one is very sturdy.

The Shark POWERDETECT Ultralight corded vacuum is a very welcomed addition to our household. Assembly was incredibly easy; less than 2 minutes to put it together and I was zipping around our home with ease.For the record, we have all hard surface flooring with area rugs. This vacuum performs equally well on all surfaces and I love the POWERDETECT as it’s no longer necessary to switch modes from hard surface to carpet!The long cord allows me to move from room to room without having to change outlets, which is a real timesaver. I had originally considered a cordless version but this model won out since so many concerns were expressed referencing battery life issues.The unit itself is very compact, is freestanding and so versatile with the included tools! I used the hand tool along with the Pet Powered Brush to vacuum our spiral staircase steps, which are carpeted, in a fraction of the time it took using our Shark Liftaway vacuum. No more battles with trying to hang on to the canister and stretching the vac hose around the configuration! I’m certain this will do a great job on our auto interiors as well.This is a great model with simple to use controls, bagless, easy empty debris cup, easy maintenance filters, self-cleaning brush roll, and the added benefit of Odor Neutralizer Technology! Don’t hesitate to make the investment! Im thrilled with my purchase!
