Excellent hats! Superb service! Don't hesitate to buy them!
A few years ago I saw a "Panama" hat on a store hat rack. It was marked down from $25 to $10 to $5. I couldn't pass up a $5 hat so I bought it. Got dozens of compliments. It looked great. But it wasn't a real Panama hat. It wasn't made of straw but paper. And it wasn't made in Ecuador where the real ones are made, it was made in China. It eventually turned yellow at the sweat band and fell apart. I wanted to replace it with a real Panama. When I researched Panama hats I came across Tumia on Amazon. They looked great and the price was right so I purchased the rollable hat (Tumia - Fedora Panama Hat - White or Natural - Lightweight rollable version). Though Amazon said it could take a month to arrive, presumably because they were coming from the UK, when I contacted Tumia they promised me the hat would arrive in 4-8 days. It came in 6. It fit perfectly and looked great. But because it was a rollable hat (which I didn't need because I don't travel much) the brim didn't have the same look that firmer non-rollable hats do. I followed the instructions on how to modify the shape but it still didn't look the way I wanted. So I contacted the company and they didn't hesitate to replace it with the non-rollable version. They didn't charge anything for the return and, in fact, refunded me $7 because the non-rollable hat was less expensive. I got the new hat (Tumia - Fedora Panama Hat - White or Natural - Non-rollable version) in a week and it was just what I wanted. Looks great. Excellent quality. Fits just right. Bottom line: great hats and superb customer service! A few tips for buyers: 1) buy the rollable hat if you travel or want a slightly lighter weight hat; 2) buy the non-rollable if you want a slightly stiffer hat that retains it shape a little better; 3) don't go by the color photos on the Amazon page. The white hat is not pure white, it's cream, i.e. the standard Panama color.

This is a GREAT HAT!
My new Panama arrived today. I really like it! Thus far, I have three straw hats, from three different manufacturers and Like them all. I think this one might just end up being my favorite. The fir is a bit large (57 CM or 7 1/8), but the cork inserts took care of the largess, so-to-speak. If you need to use the spacers, just take care you don't get your fingers stuck to the sticky side. The cork will tear, and the spacer won't work when stuck to your finger. I ruined two this way and got vary careful with the remaining ones.If you want an inexpensive and good looking and comfortable straw Panama hat, don't be afraid to invest in this one. Mine is a white straw color, just what I had hoped for.

Panama fedora made in Ecuador.
I have had tons of complements from people I do not even know! An older gentleman when we were in Las Vegas asked me if it was from Ecuador and I told him it was. You see a lot of people out there with cheap, bad looking copies.Quality: I am very happy with the quality of the hat. I have found it to be the equal to many $135.00 Panama hats that I have seen; that may or may not have been made in Ecuador.Size:, I found it to be a little large but that was easily fixed.Shipping: I received the hat in the USA in about 8 days. The hat was package very well and arrived in great condition.I would recommend this hat and Tumia if you are looking to purchase a very comfortable good looking, and good quality Panama hat.

Hat runs large
It seems to be a high quality hat - although sized a bit larger than advertised. The packing was woefully insufficient. The box & hat were crushed in shipping. I truly hope the hat will 'bounce back' into shape.Update: I placed the hat on a stand and it filled out to its original shape very nicely. I put a sizing ring under the inner band and now it fits snuggly - no worries out in the wind. I took it on vacation last week and it was stylish and functional.

Extremely large fit.
Although the overall construction of the hat is excellent, the fit is like having an ill-fitting bowl on your head. I ordered the usual size that I wear, but the hat simply sat perched upon the top of my head. They sent cork sizing stickers to apply to the inside rim of the hat to attempt to achieve a more custom fit. However, after applying all the stickers, the hat was no closer to feeling as if it fit my cranium. I realize that purchasing a hat, even in person, can be tedious when trying to find that sweet spot between fit and comfort. So, I must admit that I bear some of the responsibility for this poor outcome. In summary, beautiful construction, lousy sizing.

The hat is great, but they just threw it in a box ...
The hat is great, but they just threw it in a box with other items. The brim came all distorted and looked terrible. I've been trying to get it to straighten out but I may have to send it back - too bad, nice hand made hat.

Nice quality Panama
Hat is light and comfortable. True to size, and gets compliments. I wish there were more band colors to choose from. The brim was a little out of shape, kinda wavy, but that's to be expected considering the long trip. A damp (not wet) towel and a little weight brought it right into shape.

Great hats, Great Folks, Great Service
Tumia has the absolute best customer service, and their hats come well packaged and safe. Genuine hand made in Ecuador as the good Lord intended. They are now my go-to source for Panamas. If you are between sizes as I am, go for the smaller of the two as mine ran a little large.
