Reading the product page is confusing. All in one heading, they call this an essence only to then call it a serum. So which is it? For me, it's much more of a facial serum and not an essence at all. Okay, let's get down to the good stuff... and this stuff is good. It's a wonderfully crystal like serum that is easy to use and makes the skin look more radiant and youthful. Spreads across the skin easily. Absorbs well and works great with other skincare products. And it's easy to wear under makeup. Once it sets, there's no unwanted residuals left on the surface of the skin. It's not tacky or sticky at all. It's not excessively oily or greasy either as some can be, yet it is quite moisturizing. Will make skin more supple and elastic as it firms up the skin and diminishes fine lines. Should be very good for all skin types, especially those with normal to dry skin. Good for all adult age groups, from teens to seniors. I really love this on my mature combination skin. This is a serum that I can easily recommend for pretty much all users.

This is Gold Diamond Multi Anti-aging Essence from Chando Himalaya, a Chinese skin care line. This comes in a fancy gold box and a fancier bottle and contains 50ml/1.69oz of product. It's expensive and to me the line reminds me of a Chinese version of like a luxury Estée Lauder type premium department store line, rather than say an expensive skin care line you might get from your dermatologist like SkinCeuticals. IMHO of course. It has the words Diamond and Gold in its name so you know its high end (sounding), but should you pay luxury premium prices for this? IDK. My experience with Chinese skin care is the bottom rung priced knock off products that are blatantly trying to mimic someone else's more successful products. Products that frankly I tend to avoid. K-beauty and J-beauty drugstore lines have become very popular for their quality and affordable pricing and I tend to love them. This is something new (to me anyway), which is a Chinese brand aimed at the higher end of the market. There is an emphasis on the Himalayan vibe of the product line; it's even in the name. I think that may have more cultural significance in their domestic market. I suppose in general, from what I get from the website, it represents something cold, fresh, mysterious and some of the ingredients are from that region (if I understand correctly). Speaking of ingredients, what's in this? This is said to contain 3x peptides and...'4D Micro-Sculpting Technology' which is in the form of coheliss, an extract of French rye seeds, used for its temporary mechanical effects. Traditional Chinese medicinals are represented here by way of usnea (beard lichen), but they don't seem to highlight that here in the description but make more of a point about it on their website; found the website from the address printed on the packaging. Usnea has apparently been used in traditional Chinese medicinals since ancient times and believers claim all sorts of things that this is used for, including treatment of the skin. I'm not saying believers as a put down but rather to note that upon searching, usnea seems to have both a long history and a long list of things it is used for. I do suspect that all the ingredients are as nice as the packaging, but I don't really know of course. Using the serum is pleasant enough, but I usually don't like products that make my skin tighten after application because to me, that feeling is a sign of dryness - feels dry but not saying it really is. I realize that is a bit of a backhanded way to say that it does what it says it is going to do, to some extent anyway. I also understand that is specifically part of what will make this product appealing to some folks.
