Bright and beautiful underglaze, well worth a try
We were looking for something bright and cheerful to use on B mix, and this underglaze has been just the bees knees. I have been a bit skeptical of the behemoth that Speedball is becoming, but they seem to be making a good quality product that is easy to use. The sunflower yellow is bright and just the thing!

Works well
I'm still a beginner at all this, so I don't know all the terminology. This works as expected. It makes a nice base. The color is light.

Phenomenal color and no runs.
Speedball Emerald green underglaze is absolutely beautiful. Green is my favorite color and I wanted to use the underglaze on a coffee mug I made. I used three coats of this underglaze to create details on the mug, then I used a white glaze on top. The underglaze fired beautifully. It did not run or flux with the other glaze I used on top. I have loved every Speedball brand pottery supply or tool I have used and highly recommend this brand for all of your pottery needs.

Dull color when not used as directed
I generally paint with acrylics, but I always like to try different mediums in search of a new effect or a good value. I love the color of burnt orange, but applying it straight from the container onto your art surface is not going to result in a burnt orange color. At best, it is a pale desaturated orangish yellow. I can only assume that firing it on clay deepens the color intensely.

Better formula
I have some old formula speedball underglazes that are prone to turning chunky, so I was excited to try this new formula. It does not disappoint and goes on smoooth, with rich color coverage with only 2 coats. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to amaco velvet (velvet is still the best but this is a close second at a fraction of the cost)

Speedball Underglaze spells quality without added cost.
I was so happy with the results of this underglaze. When I looked into Speedball, they are going for high quality products at an affordable cost and I would say that they have achieved this! Here's a picture I took of a project I made for my prima. This is using the Emerald underglaze with an aqua celadon over the top. Happy potting!

Great underglaze!
This is a great underglaze, I have not had any issues with it sticking to the kiln shelf and the color does not burn out at cone 5 with a ten minute hold! I have only used it on little loafers so I cannot attest to other clays.
