Very happy with purchase
I bought this item for self defense out of state. This launcher came exactly as it looks in the photos. My wife and I tested it and it worked very well. It's accurate and powerful. It's a bit larger than a regular gun, but does fit inside my comfortac belly band. The only downside is the Co2 cartridge needs to be punctured for the magazine to be properly inserted and ready to use, as opposed to the Byrna which doesn't puncture until the trigger is pulled. But for the price difference, I'd consider that a small tradeoff. Also, in the description of the product is says black. However, it came yellow like the picture. It would be more intimidating of it was black. Neither of these things bother me enough to take a star away as it works very well.

Great product and price
More powerful than I expected. Easy operation. Ammo is expensive. Very accurate. I keep it handy...

5 Star
I'm thoroughly impressed with this. It's very easy to use, very easy to load, and very easy to shoot. I have used this with neighborhood animals with great success. The capacity is just right. The cartridges last about 20 shots as I've seen. I did order extra CO2 cartridges. I definitely like this non-lethal gun.

IMPRESSIVE! Accurate and powerful (Update: inert and pepper less effective against soft target)
Update: the launcher, with impact projectiles, is awesome. However, While the inert/pepper projectiles work fabulously against a hard target, when I tested them against a target with a winter jacket, 2 of the five did not open and the other three did split but did not disperse well with 1/2 the material still in the ball. I believe the company should test these (and show impact) against a real-life type subject such as a forensic jell target with clothing on.I still recommend this as a non-lethal launcher and am still going to get one for my daughter with impact rounds.when testing the inert or pepper balls Having various means of protecting one's family/home is important, especially if you do not want to own a firearm or, just feel more comfortable with using non-lethal means for protection.OLD REVIEW:Pepper sprays, bats/batons and "zappers" have their place, and uses, but require close quarters and, have other obvious limitations. Also, due to legal issues, depending on one's state, or with family issues, having other means of protection is important and I was hoping that this might provide that means for my daughter.Well, I definitely think it is the right "other means" I was looking for.I am pleasantly surprised at the capabilities of this Sabre projectile launcher as it works very well. It came with 7 hard rubber impact rounds, 14 INERT balls and 2 CO2 cartridges. The inert balls can be used to see the dispersion pattern that would occur should you choose to purchase pepper balls. However, for me, because it would be used (G-forbid) in the home, the distance used would most likely be between 5 to 20 ft and I think using pepper spray, inside the home, might not be desirable which is why I wanted the hard rubber balls instead of pepper balls. After testing, I can guarantee that these rubber impact projectiles are WICKED! For further practice you can purchase plastic kinetic rounds for just under $10 at Amazon (If you want pepper balls you can also purchase a supply separately).I enjoyed testing this this out. With one CO2 cartridge I was able to fire three magazines (21 rounds) before the there was a noticeable drop in accuracy and power. After each magazine was fired as I took the magazine out to reload there is a noticeable loss of CO2 for a moment, but it does have the capability to reload using the same CO2 cartridge at least two, and for me, 3 times before losing efficiency.I tested it against some pellet gun targets at approx. 45 ft and, I can guarantee these really do pack a WALLOP and, I would not want to be on the receiving end of this launcher. When fired against a 3/4-inch plywood, and a fence picket, it puts a very noticeable dent. It's also very loud and, when testing, my neighbor came out to see what was happening (you might want to notify nearby neighbors if you want to test this outside).By preloading the Magazine and putting a CO2 cartridge in (BUT NOT PIERCING IT), the Sabre launcher Is ready to use and takes only a second or two to charge/pierce the CO2 cartridge and, it will be ready for use.For practice, I recommend purchasing 50 plastic .68 cal balls (for just under $10) and stuff a carboard box with an old pillow to contain the balls (if no stuffing, the balls will go right through the carboard). This way the balls will be easy to retrieve and reuse with no damage.

Powerful, but not safe, reliable, or well-designed.
Powerful, but not safe, reliable, or well-designed. This gun, when it works, is very powerful. It seems to be 50% more powerful than the Byrna gun. Beware. The company does not accept returns even when the product is dysfunctional, and this thing is dysfunctional. The safety is built into the hand grip so if you pick up the gun the safety is immediately disengaged. The CO2 cartridge is built into the magazine so when you fire six shots and want to reload, CO2 gas is expelled when you drop the cartridge. This wastes probably half the CO2 cartridge just to reload. I think I loaded it three times before it ran out, and this uses the 12 gram cartridge, not the 8 gram like the Byrna uses. The worst problem I had was misfiring and jamming. The first two of three shots fired great. They went through two sheets of cardboard backed by a 1/4th inch plywood like butter. Then it would not fire. It would jam and I had to remove the magazine (losing CO2 again) to remove the round projectile that came with the gun. I tried better ammo but they all jammed. I was buying it for my wife, but it is not safe or reliable. If you want an air gun that is powerful and shoots two or three rounds, and you don't need a true safety feature, and you have a box full of 12 gram cartridges, and you don't mind it jamming after three rounds, this gun is for you. I don't know if my gun was a lemon, but I do know this is a bad design, both the safety feature and the location of the CO2 cartridge.

So good I may get more
I was looking at a similar item that was 5 times the price, and the only feature that one had that this one doesn't is that it doesn't puncture the CO2 cartridge until you shoot the first shot, so you know it'll have full pressure on that first shot. That said, I didn't notice any leakage, so I assume this one will hold the pressure as long as you need it to. But as far as how this works, it's amazing, the manual suggested one cartridge would only last about 14 shots, but I get about double that, and it really shoots out hard, the ricochet would be pretty painful, and a direct hit would definitely make someone think twice. You can't beat the price, I was thinking about getting a couple more and stashing them in various spots around the house.
