I Can Do Anything That's Everything All On My Own (Charlie and Lola)

This sweet bedtime story celebrates imagination and independence.Brother Charlie is admirably patient with little bitty sister Lola as she insists on doing "anything that's everything all on my own." Naturally this results in problems -- with a computer, a coat buttoned wrong and pink milk on the counter instead of in the cup.Another consequence, however, is that the little girl's imagination is allowed to soar. When Lola rides the see-saw by herself she never leaves the ground, which lets her notice "lots of interesting things very close and near." The illustration shows a parade of ants -- literally a parade, with the ants dressed like a Mexican mariachi band. When Lola lets her brother and his friend Marv get on the see-saw and lift her into the air, she becomes Captain Lola, and rescues them from imaginary pirates.Like all the Charlie and Lola stories, the dialogue seems lifted from the mouths of real kids. "I saved you and Marv." Lola tells Charlie, "from the ever so mean pirates!"Another great book about imagination is the classic Where the Wild Things Are.

Such a great series and book! So fun for the little ones to expand their reading!

The attorney I work with introduced me to the world of Charlie & Lola. It's terribly appropriate because my 4 year old granddaughter has a baby sister whose name just happens to be "Lola." Charlie & Lola and Scooby-Doo have replaced Dora and Diego on Grandma's DVR. Maizie was delighted with my first purchase of Charlie & Lola books so I imagine there will be many more to come.

My son loves charlie and lola so of course he loves this book. We started with - I will never not ever eat a tomato which is superior to this book in that it's one of the original books, where as this one is based off of the show which was created after the books. While it's not one of the original books it's still pretty good.

My son is going to love this book. It is one of his Christmas presents I can't wait to see his face when he sees it.

We love all the Charlie and Lola books. Charlie is my favorite big brother and Lola has the perfectly child-like way of speaking. Lauren Child is a writing genius.

I purchased these books for my granddaughters and they have throughly enjoyed them. All of the Charlie and Lola books are on their wish list. Kids love to read them as well as have them read to them and they are nice clean books.

Los cuentos de Charlie y Lola le encantan a mi hija y a mí también. Es un cuento cortito, de tapa blanda y está en inglés ( yo de momento se lo traduzco). Aunque no es de los que más me gustan de Juan y Tolola ( así lo tradujeron al castellano), está también lleno de imaginación. Suelen tratar temas con los que los niños se sienten identificados, y en este caso Tolola está en esa fase en que quiere hacerlo todo ella sola. Su hermano le intenta hacer ver que, para algunas cosas, todos necesitamos ayuda, y que además, puede ser muy divertido. Es una lastima que no haya casi disponibilidad en español, al igual que pasa con los dibujos animados, porque no tienen desperdicio. Enseñan a los niños desde el amor, la paciencia y también el sentido del humor...todo ello de una forma muy creativa y divertida.

Lauren Child is a great author. This is an adaptation from a TV show though and it doesn't translate to the page very well.

Para el precio no se le puede pedir más. Es solapa Fina, yo prefiero gruesa, pero no está nada mal
