Lights up, but not the color you want
There is a small button at the top of the mousepad that changes the LED colors. Unfortunately, the button is poorly made, and the whole surface of the mousepad effectively acts as the button to change the color. The result is that the mousepad is constantly cycling through all of the color options any time I touch my mouse or the mousepad. Okay if you want a rainbow mousepad, but I wanted a blue LED one, and its only blue for 10% of the time. For a $30 slab of plastic with a few LEDs built in, you really expect more. IMO, suck it up and buy the Razer one if you're really set on having an RGB mousepad.
