Effective!
Love this product! Our backyard backs up to a field and woods in a suburban neighborhood so we have plenty of deer, and no one in our neighborhood can plant very many things without them getting eaten. We graded our back lawn and had to plant a lot of grass, which grew in beautifully, and then the deer noticed our tender new baby grass and loved it. We bought the yard enforcer for this reason and hung our infrared tree camera just for fun. We got some good laughs from that and now that we know that it’s effective we don’t bother recording it anymore. But every once in a while during the late evening, we hear our water pipes going briefly and know that it’s doing its thing. The deer tend to prefer one section of our grass so we are able to aim the sensor with good success. Although the water spray can go as far around as one would like, the sensor only covers approx 25% of the potential range. So imagine if we aimed it at the 2 o’clock position, it would pick up motion within the 12 - 3 o’clock position but we can adjust it to spray in whatever direction or width range that we want, so it can get their buddies who are outside of the sensor range. The water doesn’t have to hit them at all. They are scared of the sudden, hissing noise of the sprinkler and take off without looking back. Some of them now know the boundary (of their preferred area) and avoid it now. We change up the direction of the sensor to keep them guessing. One time I witnessed it reacting to a squirrel in the daytime, but usually, as far as I’ve seen, it doesn’t. That is likely because we have it angled higher for the deer. The only improvement I’d like to see is an adjustable width of sensor range, but otherwise it’s reliable, works during the day and night and we love it. We have been using for at least three weeks and have had no leaks. If you are going to keep in on all the time like us, I recommend investing in a heavy duty hose.

Keeps cats away
This has been amazing to stop the cats in my neighborhood from crapping on my grass. I only have it set at night and it works as intended. I will be getting another for my backyard.

Worked like a charm
I had to return the first one due to inoperability (however, after the new one arrived, figured out there was nothing wrong with the first one). The instructions are very poorly written. It said in order to activate the sensor the first time, you have to place in the off position, then hold the button for 20 seconds until you hear a click. That never happened. Changed the batteries 3 times, still nothing. So decided to return and ask for a replacement. The replacement arrived 2 days later, and same thing. I started moving the dial to DAY, NIGHT, All modes. Low and behold, it worked on the DAY mode. I then set up the sprinkler in the yard and tested it. Worked like a charm. Easy assembly and adjustment. Water coverage is as we wanted. I recommend, however, just don't put the dial in the off mode if you want to hear the click. Place in DAY mode. Check it in the yard, and if you only want night, then switch to night mode. Note: the sprinkler only operates for a few seconds then turns off, don't expect it to be continuous. it operates only enough time to scare away unwanted racoons, etc

This Product Does Not Work Against Rabbits
After exploring and attempting other unsuccessful stratagems, I purchased this device with the sole intent of it deterring and repelling rabbits from dining on my lawn. Thus, my one star review is predicated, in the main, on the Garden Enforcer failing to perform this task. In my view, there are several factors with this unit that appear to lend to its ineffectiveness against rabbits: 1. The motion activated sensor is not attuned/designed to recognize the smallness nor quickness of rabbits. It appears to be effective against humans, dogs and (presumably) deer, but, unfortunately, not rabbits. Various sensor adjustments, equipment locations, configurations and placements were to no avail. 2. The tripod configuration of the unit itself appears to be a hindrance to rabbit deterrence. The unit cannot be lowered enough via the tripod adjustment mechanism for the motion sensors to detect rabbits even though the sensor itself, to a degree, can be adjusted vertically. 3. The Garden Enforcer's hose connection has an inherent design flaw. The hose connection descends vertically from the center of the unit to a terminus that is equidistant from the three legs of the tripod and that is only marginally situated above the base of the tripod at its most retracted setting. Attaching a hose to the connection effectively renders the lowest tripod setting to be ineffective as it does not account for the hose itself, i.e., the hose, when connected, is actually below the lowest tripod setting making the hose the fulcrum rather than the tripod. A better design would be to have the hose connection nearer to the top of the tripod so that the unit itself could be fully lowered so that the sensor could be more effective against smaller animals such as rabbits. 4. The unit has four operating modes: Off, Day, Night and Always. Since rabbits are primarily dawn and dusk diners, none of these settings ideally serves the purpose of deterring rabbits. As a result, I was compelled to set the unit on the Always setting. Until we adapted to its presence, during the day, the Always setting gave me and my dog a reminder of its existence! A far better solution would be to integrate a digital timer with this device so that on/off settings can be truly programmable, making the Garden Enforcer a more flexible tool. Orbit, itself, makes these very timers. I have one that works quite well. Aside from its inability to deter rabbits (and I suspect animals of similar size such as cats), the Garden Enforcer appears to be well constructed. The tripods are of metal construction and the plastic components appear to be durable. The sprinkler mechanism also works fine and can be adjusted for distance, radius and duration. The instructions were clear and It was easy to set up. A note about Orbit's customer service. Seeking advice on rabbit deterrence, I talked to two separate customer service representatives on separate days. Neither of the reps appeared to be at all knowledgeable about or familiar with the Garden Enforcer. In fact, one sent me a pdf of user instructions for the wrong product. Finally, in frustration, I was able to speak with a supervisor who was more familiar with the product, secured some technical input while I was put on hold and provided me with some suggestions to improve the unit's effectiveness against rabbits. Alas. all to no avail. So, if it's rabbits you seek to repel, this is not the product for it. For humans, dogs and, I suspect, deer, it will likely be more effective.

We have had our yard enforcer for over four months now. It works great for keeping our neighbour’s cat from visiting and pooping in our yards but after four months it’s started to leak. Seller would you help get in touch so we can fix this? Thanks.

Le branchement à l’arrivée d’eau n’est pas étanche ! La pièce a du jeu derrière le joint malgré un serrage au maximum. Impossible à utiliser !

Little difficult to work out. Needed a particular thread joiner from bunnings so the hose would connect to it, cost $2. Doesnt leak and stops the dog pooping on the back pavers, it is worth its weight in gold, love it.

We have been having problems for years with cats using our garden as their personal toilet. We had at least five different cats use our garden and we had tried everything from pepper to cat sprays we even got three metal cat figures with marble eyes which are meant to scare cats away nothing seemed to work. We have three small children so we do need to be careful what we use and we did not want anything to hurt the cats, but we had enough, one morning my husband cleaned 30 cats poo off our lawn that was one days worth and the final straw. I saw this product and at first I was concerned as its quite alot of money to spend but we were at the end of our tether with the cats that had taken over our garden, we want somewhere where our children can play without the worry of them stepping into cats poo. The orbital yard enforcer is absolutely fabulous I cannot recommend this enough. My husband put it together without any problems and he used the connectors provided which were fine we live in the UK and this product is produced in the US but we did not have any issues connecting it to our hose so I am unsure why some people have had problems we did not have any. It is motion sensed so as soon as a cat steps into our garden it is triggered off and sprays, I love it we have our garden back, just after one day it is completely poo free and cat free and the kids think its amazing running though the sprinkler in the summer I just need to remember to switch it off when I want to put my washing out. So if you are worried about spending out so much money I would definitely say it is worth every penny it I a solid and sturdy sprayer. I am more then pleased with is.
