Great globe, accurate and detailed-- just an aesthetic qualm
We are thrilled to have a family globe and our kids love exploring this globe. Nice USA company for globes and we do not find the errors that seem so prevalent on a lot of the cheap foreign made globes these days. I love the detail and the accuracy for our home school applications in geography. The only downside, and it's unfortunately enough to dock this one star in my opinion, is that my husband and I both did not like the bump in the middle of the globe where the northern and southern hemispheres are put together in assembly. Assembly is easy, but having this big cream-colored plastic bump not only decreases the aesthitic attractiveness of the globe, it is strange to me to have it sticking out so much--it's not that much, probably only a couple millimeters, but we don't like that-- it seems it could have been manufactured in a way that the two hemispheres could be put together without so much of the plastic joining piece showing outside the globe.

Long Overdue
I don't know why I put off buying a globe for so long; I've wanted one for years. The instructions were easy to understand and assembly was pretty easy. The only piece I couldn't quite deal with was the little disc used to tell world times, but I didn't need it anyway. A couple of neighbors came over, and were impressed with the generally tan or light beige color of the globe, which I like as well.

Nice
So I saw lots of reviews that said it was cardboard so I was really nervous. When you open the box, that is what it looks like, but it came out super cute and was exactly what I was looking for

Disappointed
I got my globe today. When I picked the box up I was surprised how light it was. It is made out of very thin cardboard. The instructions are not the best. It is hard to see the faded pictures. So I went to you tube to make sure I put the 15 pieces together right. They fly through the instructions in a couple of seconds. They said something about the base being wood. It is thin coated metal. You have to hold it down with one hand while you turn it with the other. The instructions mention a tag you attach to it. It is missing. I'm disappointed. Globes use to be solid with good materials. I'm thinking about sending this back and trying to buy one from a store that I can see. I gave it a three because it is pretty. I don't think the durability will be good.

Assemble your own globe.,
The globe had to be assembled and the pieces not fit together properly. I had to return it. Also some of the panels were peeling off. Looks great but seems cheap when you see how it is actually made and assembled.
