Gabor Women's Eagle Sandals

Along with many others, I'm a convert to the Gabor Lanzarote range. Background: I have constant back, hip, knee and general pain from fibromyalgia, sciatica, osteoarthritis etc. I also have high arches and need a wide fitting shoe. I am unable to wear any normal pumps or sandals without getting terrible pain through my feet and ankles so I have to use specially made orthotics in court style shoes or trainers.Fortunately a few years ago, on holiday in Guernsey, I wandered into a rather exclusive shoe shop along (along the front in St Peter Port) to see what was on offer in their summer sale. They were selling their last few Lanzarote mules half price. I was hesitant as I've never been able to wear flip flops or anything with a bar between my toes. My partner decided I should try them anyway and bought them for me. Best decision he ever made - other than falling for me of course... ;-)Right from the start these sandals need no wearing in, they are amazingly comfortable and give support in all the right places. Although I can't walk far anymore, back then I was able to wear them all day with no pain at all - absolute bliss. The next year, in the sale again, I bought a second pair from the same shop. Those were the same - outrageously comfortable and beautifully made. Three years later I now have five pairs in various colours and the first pair are still going strong (although I've worn them so much the leather has stretched and they're now a little loose). My feet are 24cm in length and I usually buy a U.K. Size 6 in shoes. The size 38 Lanzarotes are perfect for me at 26 1/2cm length it I also have two pairs in size 39 which are half a cm longer at 27cm. (See picture for where my toes come - pale pink is my oldest pair in 39, turquoise is year younger in 38.)The Lanzarotes are so good I now won't wear anything else in summer and I'm worried that Gabor will stop making them at some point! I never thought that I would find any comfortable summery footwear so, although they are expensive if you can't buy them in a sale, they are worth every penny. (By the way, if you want the same comfort in winter, I'd recommend the Fitflop Mukluks. Again, quite expensive, but if you buy them out of season they tend to be cheaper and they are so warm! I've done the same thing and bought one pair each year for the last few years so now I'm fully kitted out both winter and summer...)If anyone has any questions just let me know - I hope you'll all find the Gabor Lanzarote the revelation that I have!

Really lovely sandals. Very comfortable (this is my 3rd pair; I have another in cerise pink & a beige pair too)The suede is very good quality.

These slides are beautifully made, and very comfortable. I have found Gabor sizing to be a good size bigger than other makes, so wasn’t surprised to need to exchange my size 40 for a 39. Also, I have a shallow, tho not narrow, foot, which means most sandals are far too loose. But not Gabor: a perfect fit. Arnouts’ service was friendly, helpful and quick. Thank you to them!

Lovely slip on sandal. Comfortable foot pad with a very broad upper covering with which to hold my foot in place. In my opinion I would I would recommend a slightly smaller covering on the smaller sizes. A good purchase on the whole.

I had been looking for these shoes for a while but the price always put me off. I happened to drop on these on Amazon and ordered them immediately. I am delighted with both the fit of the shoes and the price. Immediately comfortable, lovely soft, supple leather, the size 5 are a perfect fit and, more importantly, the toe post doesn't rub or irritate as it is a flat piece of leather than a rounded post. Am very pleased with my purchase.

This is my second pair of this style and I have had the previous pair for about 3 years - a bit of a record for me! They are very comfortable and provide great support. The only reason I am buying another as my first pair are looking a bit worn on the uppers so I wanted a new replacement for going out. I am very happy with the price and the design. They will go with any outfit so perfectly fit the bill.Prompt delivery and good packaging too.

I bought these shoes as slippers. I cant imagine them being used for going outside in because of the light leather base and sides of this shoe which, to me would not be practical as it would get dirty and cleaning wouldn't be easy. As slipper they are lovely. The leather upper is soft and the composition sole of the shoe is very non slip. Just perfect for me. Mine are a size 5 and I would say its a normal size 5 fit.I WOULD LIKE TO ADD ONTO THIS AS I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THESE SHOES. AFTER ONLY 8 MONTHS THE SOLE WAS COMING AWAY FROM THE REST OF THE SHOE. I CAN STILL USE THEM AND THEY ARE STILL AMAZING COMFORTABLE BUT THEY NOW CREAK EVERY TIME I WALK. AS MY ORDER WAS OVER SIX MONTHS OLD AMAZON DIDN'T ALLOW ME TO CONTACT THE SELLER.
