kilts fit differently than jeans or other pants so take that into consideration and follow the sizing recommendations. I love this kilt. great fabric, great color, fits perfectly and has very practical 'cargo' type pockets. Also, this particular seller is very accommodating and easy to work with if you need a different size or color. I'd highly recommend.If you're new to kilts, I can offer some advice as I wavered back and forth for a long time. If you wear a kilt, own it. wear it with confidence. embrace the weird looks as well as the positive compliments. There will be plenty of both. Also, wear boots and high socks, they look weird with sneakers. As far as going commando, its a liberating feeling. However, in public, in my experience, its wise to at least wear boxers, or even a pair of shorts underneath. Its very unflattering to have to tuck your kilt like a woman tucks her skirt when sitting down, and you don't want your bare ass on any surface you can't control. like, say, a bus seat, or other public flat surface for that matter. And while we're on the topic of skirts, a kilt is not a skirt, no matter what your wife or 3 year old daughter says. A kilt is awesome on a man. A skirt is not. end of story.

This is a mixed review. The kilt itself is very well made, out of a sturdy (if rather heavy) material, and the pockets are quite nice. I also liked being able to get it in Blackwatch tartan. It’s really convenient to be able to get a quality kilt with Prime shipping in two days that is so inexpensive because it’s not custom made, but that’s also the downside. One size fits most.Because it uses snaps around the waste instead of the traditional belts and buckles there is no adjustability for size up or down. I wear a 33” pant, so a 37” kilt, which they didn’t have so I got a 38”, and it turned out to feel much too big. Had to get a belt and cinch it way down with a bunch up of fabric at the back. It also feels about 2 to 3 inches too long, hanging past my knees. Again, the things that make it convenient and inexpensive are also the drawbacks. I don’t regret getting the utilikilt, and it’s still fine for casual wear.

I ordered this kilt to wear on a long hike thru Assiniboine Provincial Park, and it was fantastic to wear on those cool mornings and warm afternoons. I was a little skeptical that I would enjoy hiking in a kilt, but now I don’t think I will be able to hike in regular pants again!. The fit was as described in the sizing charts, I loved the pockets, and the material held up great over a 10 day backcountry hike. Loved it so much I am going to buy another.

I can rock a kilt and find them to be beyond comfortable. I've taken to wearing them for the hell of it when going out. ALWAYS get compliments (and a few gropes to check to see if I'm wearing it "authentically" - behave ladies!). If you measure as the description suggests, you can't go wrong with the fit. The pockets are great for carrying everything (you'd need a sporran if you wore a plain kilt). The fabric is fantastic, soft, and not too hot in a South Texas climate.

Fits exactly as expected provided you read their sizing guide. These are actual size not standard pants sizing. I wear a 32 Jean and in this kilt I wear a 38. My natural waist is 37". The kilt has some adjustability with the side straps. The cargo pockets are free floating and not sewn down to the kilt. I originally intended to put my keys in them and run a 5k but decided I didn't want them banging around since the pocket is only sewn down at the top. They are plenty big to store your phone, wallet, and more. The colors are great, and the fabric is heavy, plan to wash it immediately since right out of the bag it smells like fresh acrylic.

I am 6' and 265lbs. My natural waist (measured around my naval) was 51" and my hips (where I wear my pants) were 47". I wanted to wear my kilt where I wear my pants; at my hips. I measured several times both my hips and my natural waist. I finally received my kilt today and was so stoked to try it on. It appears to be well made and has a nice weight to it. When I went to put it on....it fit nicely around my natural waist, but if I were to wear it where I wanted to, around my hips where I wear my pants, it would far too big (I ordered the 48" size). It looks good around my natural waist and does make me appear slimmer due to my belly not hanging over (however, in my defense, I've lost 35lbs in the last three months). I was also concerned about the length because according to my measurements from my natural waist to my knee was 21" and from my hips to my knee was 19". This kilt hits just at the bottom of my knee, which is fine for me. Maybe 2" shorter and it would have hit the mid knee instead, but so be it. So take that for what it's worth. I will definitely order another kilt from UTKilts, but now I am aware that there is a slight sizing discrepancy.

This skirt is amazingly gorgeous, this flow tho!I love love LOVE it! I ordered two colours, based on the other reviews and I'm so glad I did. A classic case of 'you get what you pay for'. They also arrived much faster than I expected them to, within a week of ordering them. I'm extremely happy with this purchase :)
