Just received the Kastar replacement battery for my GoPro 8 camera. My original battery has started to swell and is difficult to install or remove from the camera. So I decided to try a non OEM product since the GP OEM is so expensive. Thought I would try out the Kastar. It can very well packaged and has a nice plastic storage case included. The battery was charged at 50% when received and I installed it in the camera to charge. The battery fits and looks identical to the OEM one. No problem with fitting in the camera or quality of the new battery. The new battery charged right up and no problems with the camera using it. I gave only 4 stars as I will try it out to see how it will work in normal use in my car. Nice product Kastar and excellent price! 6/4/25 This is a follow up on using the battery. Tried it out on a recent drive and got right at 1 hour and 15 minutes of use recording the whole time. That was pretty good. For me this has been a good purchase.

Works so far, no problems on my hero 8.. ill update the review after testing batter life etc.

Initial impression is good. It lasted the same as the original battery for about an hour continuous on in my unscientific testing.

Best generic gopro battery I have used

Buyer beware, does not work well with Go Pro 8. You might get 20 minutes of use at full charge before it shuts down.

I bought these originally when I bought my GoPro hero eight. Those were getting old so I came back to get more because they’re that good.
