Salomon Men's XA PRO 3D Gore-TEX

Got a pair of these XA PRO 3D GTXs to complement my old GTX X Ultra 3s. These primarily differ in that they have a rigid plastic arch plate. Objectively, this makes them easier to use for long trail hikes over rocky ground but on the flip side they do take a bit of time to wear in and mold to the foot (the X Utras fit like a glove pretty much from day 1). The sole tread seems similar to the X Utras, in that it's quite soft so they do wear. (the X Ultra 4's look like they've got a longer lasting tread pattern). I reckon I'll get maybe 250-300kms out of them by the time the lugs under the sole are worn pretty low. I'd have liked Salomon to use a slightly harder compound: the uppers are still going strong but the soles are dying. Both mine are GTX and it's a nice to have when it's wet. I don't have any issues using them in the heat. The autolacing system works great and I find them very comfortable, even if you have to tighten them every couple of hours. You have to do that with laces too, so the convienience is great. All in all these are both great trail hiking shoes and light enough to run with for shorter distances. If you are carrying serious weight you may want something with a hardered tread compound as the do wear fairly quickly. The flip side of this is they provide sure footed grip on most surfaces, even in the wet. Recommended, I'd give them 4.6 stars, dropping the 0.4 points because I wish they had a little more durable (longer lasting) soles, but well worth it if you can get them at a discounted price.

Fantastic fit, 10/10 quality, completely waterproof, (I wear them everyday in pretty harsh conditions), you get used to the laces quite quickly but the jury is still out… honestly the best walking shoes I’ve ever used by a country mile, pun intended. I’m a convert to this brand. 11/10!!

Nice shoes. Stayed waterproof for the first handful of walks. Not 100% confident how long that will last. Didn’t think I would get on with the laces but they are actually quite good and super quick for taking off and doing up. Sturdy design which didn’t take too long to break in. I’m 10 walks in and no problems. Biggest issue was the month and a half wait to get them! Update - worn every day for dog walking for a year now. Started to let water in which is a shame. Still lots of wear in them though. Proper worn in an comfortable. Just wear them in the dry now.

I walk every day.... no really, every day. Having a high energy dog means that I get to brave the weather no matter what it is. These shoes have been put through their paces having owned them now for around 8 months they are still holding up well. Still completely waterproof and very comfortable. I LOVE the quick laces which have also lasted very well. I suspect the rubber soles of the shoes will be the first thing to give way through the extended use. Having gone through lots of shoes previously that either gave me hard skin on my feet, failed the waterproof test after a few months or just perished I decided to buy another pair of these to keep until these need to be replaced. Excellent shoes!

Bought 6 months ago because I thought they would keep my feet dry when I walk my dogs each day. Just fields with wet grass While they are comfortable and used for walking not running, failed in 6 months. My socks and feet are soaking wet within 15 minutes. Considering the price of these shoes and are advertised as waterproof they do not represent value for money. Perhaps they should have spent more time with the QA of their manufacturing and waterproofing instead of focusing on fancy pull tie laces. Expensive and poor quality.

I had an older pair of these that I literally wore until they fell apart and they were very comfortable. So, I bought another pair - these - I’m not sure what’s different but the same design and type of shoes are nowhere near as comfortable as my original pair. They seem narrower at the toe, slightly smaller (even thought the same size) and seem to have less arch support. I’m a big fan of Salomon footwear but these just aren’t as comfortable for me.

I read all the reviews across the various sellers of the XA Pro 3D’s and saw a lot of reviewers experienced ‘sizing issues’. I went on the Salomon website and used their size guide to see what size I should buy. I usually get shoes in a UK size 8, my feet measure 25cm which according to Salomon is a UK size 7, having taken into consideration the other reviews, suggesting to buy a size larger, I purchased my usual UK size 8 and I’m glad to say the fit is spot on, so it’s worth measuring your feet and going from there. I work in concert touring and television so I’m constantly on and off my feet throughout my working day, regularly over 14 hours, these shoes, so far, have been very comfortable. I think the lace system is great and holds throughout. The tongue has a ‘pouch’ for the lace clip to be stored in so isn’t left flapping around. The inner sole is very comfortable, they didn’t need much “breaking in” which surprised me, and the added benefit of these having goretex meant my feet stayed dry whilst working outside in the wet weather recently.

It was used for trail runs and found enhanced confidence and comfort, and goretex material lived up to its reputation making small puddles inconsequential. Although some Pasting of the sole came off in 20 days. However proactive after sales team did replace prompltly.

Passt sofort ohne Einlaufen. Die Schnürung war erst ungewohnt, lässt sich aber super anpassen und man ist schnell drin sind wieder draußen. Leicht und bequem

Normalde 43 giyiyorum. Bu modelde 44 tam oluyor. Bu ayakkabının aynısını 4 sene kullandım, o kadar memnundumki tekrar aynısından aldım. Su geçirmez ve sıcak tutar.

Son derece dayanıklı, rahat, şık. Günde 12-14km yürüyen birisi olarak kesinlikle tavsiye ederim. Su geçirmiyor. Normalde 42.5 giyiyorum bunu da 42.5 aldım ve tam oldu. Bedeninizi rahatlıkla alabilirsiniz.
