Scientific Style and Format: The CSE Manual for Authors, Editors, and Publishers, Eighth Edition

This is the CSE standard for writing reports and articles in science!
I am a professor at a small public liberal arts university and teach courses in a Biology department. We have a writing-across-the-curriculum program that involves intermediate and advanced levels of writing pertinent to the student's major. This book is the standard for style and formatting for most science journals and is published by the Council of Science Editors (CSE). As such, this book documents fully the standards for journal articles which are the models for laboratory reports in science courses for higher education. Our department uses two other books to introduce the CSE style to students (authored by J. Pechenik and K. Knisely), but for faculty, this is the REAL DEAL textbook for science authors. It comprehensively covers more than just in-text and end-material citations of literature, but also standards for abbreviations, SI units, graphics, statistical analysis, vocabulary, etc. with chapters covering special issues for subdisciplines within the sciences. Every professor teaching writing to science undergraduate or graduate students should have a desk copy of this manual and every college/university library should have a copy in its reference department. HIGHLY recommended! MLA and APA are the standards for other disciplines; CSE is for science.

Necessary for your format library if you teach.
If you are are college English prof, eventually you will need to cover all the formats.

La experiencia de compra y atención
Me gustó que recibí el producto muy pronto y en perfectas condiciones, bueno, no tantas, mi libro venía un poco manchado, pero poco importa. Gracias!!!

What I was looking for!
Are you writing a scientific paper? A thesis? Whatever? You should really have this. No more "should I write this in italic?", "How do I refer to an E. coli strain in a professional way?".Really useful!
