Great for upgrading existing TV
Excellent device. I've used it to upgrade my first generation smart TV. My 55 inch older smart TV still has a great picture but the apps no longer work or update. This is the perfect way to get a few more years from the TV and add other features. It was a bit tricky to install as the remote wasn't paired to the stick, it kept turning on my bedroom fire TV. I had to use the mobile app as a tempory remote to then be able to pair the supplied remote. After that was done it all mostly worked well apart from two settings. There was a moire type effect on my screen which was noticeable in dark scenes using 4K at 60Hz. Luckely there is a setting in the stick that allows the display to be set to 4K 50Hz and this fixed it with no degradation to the performance of the stick. I also had to re-sync the audio to the picture. done easily in the stick settings. I think changing the screen refresh puts the sound slightly out of sync. All working great now and I am very happy with this Firestick, it has great features and performance and it has saved me from buying a new expensive TV. Recommended Update: Had to return as Amazon prime video app stopped working. All other apps worked great but prime video would just show a black screen with audio when trying to stream a film. I tried every suggested solution including reset and default settings, spent hours on the internet looking for a fix. I tried it in a different TV, same problem. I gave up. I didn't get an option for replacement from Amazon, only a refund, which was dissapointing. Looks like I'm buying a new TV after all.

Good bit of kit, but wait for a Prime Day or Sale, if you can, to grab one at a bargain price!
I'm a big fan of firesticks, mainly as they are a great way of turning a non-smart tv into a smart one for a fraction of the price of buying a smart tv. I've got 2 of the entry level fire sticks (I believe they were referred to as "lite" at the time, but now referred to as HD) which I've had for about 4 years, one for the main living room TV, the other for the bedroom. As some of the apps were getting a little "clunky" (worked but would take a few moments to load and didn't feel as responsive to button presses on the remote) I had been toying with the idea of getting one of the higher spec models and grabbing one at a bargain price during prime day felt like a good idea. I don't have a 4k TV, but this works fine on a full HD 1080p and I've got the benefit of 4k should I get a TV of that spec at any point in the future. Apps are noticeably quicker at loading and the ones which were clunky on the old sticks, specifically the Prime video app and the ITV X app, are now much faster loading, smoother, and more responsive. Set up was very straight forward as I chose the option for it to be auto set up when plugged in (I forget the exact term, but my layman's understanding is that the settings of my other sticks are stored by Amazon so the new one "knows" how to connect and which apps I already use) - I recon I was up and running within about 10 minutes maximum after plugging it in and a few obligatory software updates were installed. If this is your first, then the usual entering of WIFI codes and choosing which apps you want, entering usernames, passwords etc is required and to be expected. The remote certainly has more features than the more basic version but my TV remote is automatically able to operate the Firestick anyway without any set up or faffing about needed, so I can't verify the ease of set up for the Firestick remote to operate the TV volume etc, I just have no need for it to do that. The only slight downside is not an issue with the product, but with the delivery. I was advised of a Sunday delivery, which is fine, it said delivery would be via Royal Mail, which I hadn't expected but, OK, I can only assume that they do Sunday parcel deliveries, I'm aware they are concentrating more on that side of the business. When occasionally checking the "track package", it still indicated as a Sunday delivery so I was a little put out when I found a red Royal Mail card to say they'd not been able to deliver on Saturday morning (ok, maybe I should've realised they wouldn't deliver on a Sunday, but then, why state that as the delivery day?) So I had to rearrange via the Royal Mail's website to have the item delivered to a nearby Post Office to collect from there as I would be at work if they tried to re-attempt the delivery on the next working day. When I collected from the Post Office the outer packaging was a little torn and the product box was a little dented, however, no visible damage to the contents and, as this is a product review, I'm not going to knock off stars for the Royal Mail's slight muck ups and a seeming inability to knock very loudly on my front door.

Blazing Fast Streaming, Wi-Fi 6E Power, and the Black Friday Price Was Unbeatable!
Here is a 5-star Amazon review for the Fire TV Stick 4K Max (Newest Gen), tailored to emphasize the upgrade benefits (Wi-Fi 6E), the value, and the new Ambient Experience feature. 🔥 Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max (Newest Gen) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5.0 out of 5 Stars - Blazing Fast Streaming, Wi-Fi 6E Power, and the Black Friday Price Was Unbeatable! Why I Bought This Upgrade: I was using an older generation Fire Stick, and while it worked, the performance was sluggish. The upgrade to the 4K Max (Newest Gen) was a no-brainer, especially with the amazing Black Friday Sale price, which made the already great value simply unbeatable. The Game-Changing Features (The Pros): Blazing Fast Performance: This new chip is incredibly responsive. Apps load instantly, navigating menus is fluid, and there's absolutely no lag or stutter when switching between streaming services. It makes the whole TV experience smooth and enjoyable. Future-Proof Wi-Fi 6E Support: This is the feature that matters most for high-quality streaming. With a Wi-Fi 6E compatible router, my connection is rock-solid and faster than ever, ensuring seamless 4K and HDR content with zero buffering, even when other devices are hogging the network. Gorgeous Ambient Experience: The new screensaver feature is fantastic! It transforms the TV into a rotating display of beautiful artwork, photos, and personalized widgets (like weather or calendar). It makes the TV look like a large digital frame when not in use. It's a genuinely thoughtful addition that enhances the home environment. Crisp 4K and HDR Support: Picture quality is pristine, supporting all the modern formats (HDR10+, Dolby Vision) for cinematic visuals. Value for Money: At the sale price, this is hands-down the best 4K streaming device on the market. Final Verdict: The Fire TV Stick 4K Max (Newest Gen) is an essential upgrade for anyone still using older streaming hardware. The speed, the reliability of Wi-Fi 6E, and the surprisingly delightful Ambient Experience make this a premium product at a mid-range price. A flawless 5-star purchase and the best streaming device investment I've made!
