Beautiful and exceptionally legible βatomicβ wall clock
Setup was super-easy. Inserted batteries (part of the package), moved a slider to my time zone, hung it up around 9:00 pm PDT In place that I thought would receive a clear signal, and came back about any hour later to see that it was running perfectly. Thr trick is to find a good location. Mine is a wall facing east and near a window. The display is very legible and altogether gorgeous. Beyond all this, I like that it comes from Marathon, a family-owned company in Canada that has been making rugged, high-quality automatic and quartz watches for the military for years. I bought it as a small personal gesture of solidarity with our loyal neighbor to the north. But above all this clock is a bargain for an attractive radio-controlled wall clock. I highly recommend it.

Nice upgrade to the previous one
I had another vendor's clock up on this small wall in the great room. I have clocks elsewhere, and an Amazon Echo show, the new larger one, so it's not that I can't look SOMEWHERE and see the time - but this was just at a spot that I've had a clock since we built the house, so it's always a reflex to look there first even when I'm looking at the TV with another digital clock in the entertainment center just under it... Muscle memory basically... The one I had was the other well known brand, and it worked fine for several years, but recently started getting totally whacked out, changing time, year, day, going from 12 to 24 hour, all with brand new batteries and the atomic signal sync turned off (since it's not a great signal here in Wisconsin). I finally decided to toss it and get something else. I needed something with a central hook point - not two hanging points. I didn't want to deal with changing things around on the wall, I had a nail there, wanted to keep using that single nail. And this works just fine with it. Setup is simple, easy to change 12/24 since I prefer 24 hour clock being a veteran. Easy to change F/C at will. Upon initial powerup, it looked like the screen was broken and the liquid crystal had spilled "inside" everywhere. Over the course of a minute or two, it started "neatening itself up." LOVE the big numbers. I don't wear glasses, but it's still nice having the larger numbers there. The numbers alone as as large as the entire screen was for the old clock, but I still get the date, temp, and humidity inside, they're just smaller on the edge, which is fine by me. So far it's been reliable and keeping good time. So for the price, this is probably the best one I've had of this type...

Nice Medium-Large Desk or Wall Clock, Atomic Function Works Well
Clock arrived in great condition. After checking instructions for the less than intuitive way to change time zones and daylight savings status, I set that up and pressed the wave button. Within about five minutes the clock had set date and time accurately. The face is viewable from about 30Β° above or below plane, but one must be within a fairly narrow angle from left to right to see the segments clearly, otherwise they start "ghosting". I plan to keep it on the top shelf of a desk and may try to adhere lead adhesive weights to the back stand so that it helps level out the angle it sits at to be closer to perpendicular. The lead will help keep it from tipping forward while providing just enough lift. This will make it easier to read while sitting at said desk and still be viewable while standing. UPDATE: After several years of dealing with manual DST changes, and forgetting how it works each half year, I have finally determined (and written down) what works to update DST on this Marathon. It doesn't happen automatically, at least where the clock normally resides. I found that moving it to the other side of the house, in the kitchen near a window, then tapping the WAVE button once, allows it to find the sync signal and update time within about 5 minutes. The antenna strength animation above the 'M' logo (bottom right corner) is two or three bars high vs one bar when trying this in the clock's normal location.

Not all atomic clocks have equally good reception...
This clock has a very nice, large hour-minute display, readable from a distance even in dim light. The data to the right of the hour-minute display...not so readable. The oak finish border looks good in a room with Sauder BIY furniture. The one downside is the reception of the atomic time signal. Not all atomic clocks have equally 'good' reception. This clock doesn't receive the time signal update when placed in the exact same location as the atomic clock it is replacing (which is made by that other manufacturer). As a matter of fact, the only places I can get time signal reception is at a window or in the middle of a room. When the clock is hung on any wall, be it plaster board (which the other brand receives thru) or concrete block (which is difficult for any atomic clock reception), this clock does not receive the signal. I've placed it in a half-moon window above the regular window of my front room, where reception works. It's mounted high up, but easily readable due to the large numbers. In my case, reception locations are extremely limited.

Five stars
THIS IS A FOUR LONG TERM REVIEW!! I purchased this wall clock in 2020. It has worked perfectly! The materials its made of is very good quality. I use it my commercial kitchen so It gets grease, humid, hot, also cold in the winter, and it works great. We clean it every once in a while, and it looks like new again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ππ Good Job Marathon for making a good quality product. (something not very common in this times)

Easy to use, super large numbers
The numbers are almost comically large, however the fact that it is not illuminated in any way means the large numbers make it easier to read in low light. It required essentially zero setup. I slid the setting over to DST, then to my time zone, then slid both batteries inside, and it had set itself within two or three minutes. The appearance is attractive and ties in well with our living room setup. The only change I would like to see, and I'd be completely willing to pay extra for this feature, is to have a corded version available with a super faint backlight. I'd still like it to have batteries inside, but when running on corded power it would be amazing to have the background just barely illuminated for lower light rooms. It would also mean the batteries would need replacing every few years instead of every few months. The display shows AM/PM, Hour:Minute, Month/Day, Weekday, Ambient Temp, Seconds, then an indicator for how connected it is for atomic accuracy. The thermostat displays about three degrees cooler than my household one, but I have no idea which is more accurate. I cannot speak to the longevity of the clock as I only received it this week, but I'm happy with my purchase thus far.

The directions are correct. Follow them
It's a great clock and syncs up to 60 Khz WWV radio just fine at night in my location. The numbers are a little larger than I expected but that's great. We can read it across a large den without any problem. I was first concerned that the LCD display wouldn't show up well in a dim room but it does fine with very little light.. I'm a retired electrical engineer and didn't read the dsetup directions closely, and was unable to get the day of the week and the numerical date manually set. It was obvious that the default year was not 2018, but I didn't see anyway to set the year since it is not dispalyed after the setup is complete. I emailed customer service to see how to correct what I thought to be a bug. In a few hours Customer Service emailed me back with links that show exactly what to do. I reread the instructions and found that they agreed with with the links. Turns out I hadn't followed the directions correctly. Since everything but the day of the week was correct I decided to wait until the next morning to follow the directions correctly. I did make sure that the Radio sync was set to on, because I had done quite a bit of punching buttons before I gave up and emailed customer service and I wasn't sure if the default "sync on" was still in place. The next morning the date and week day had reset correctly. It had synced up to the radio signal which is stronger at night. My advice is read all the directions and follow all the directions and the clock will set perfectally.

Well made, easy to set up, easy to read.
Iβm not sure how much there is to say about this, but I really like it! The numbers are huge, at least on the main clock, and it was easy to set up. I wish these atomic clocks would set up a little faster, but I pretty much just turned it on, set the time zone, and left for a couple hours, and when I came back it had everything updated for my region. I bought this for my garage woodworking workshop so I could have glanceable time whenever I needed it, and itβs great for that. I can read it from ~13 feet away at the farthest distance in the garage without any problem. I wish these clocks were a little less expensive, but it seems to be worth the price. *** Update 11/19 *** As you can guess from the date, DST has ended so I'm updating my review to note that the clock still hasn't adjusted the time by its self. It's really annoying. Sure, I can do it myself but I got this specifically so it would do it on its own and I could mount it in an inconvenient place. Downgraded from 5 to 3 stars.
