I have a pig, not a horse, and I got this lysine supplement because I had read that pigs need extra lysine in their diet. Honestly, I have no idea how to gauge whether this is working/helping, but I have no reason to think it’s not. I mean, I also take lysine myself—no, not this one!—and I know for certain that the lysine I take works extremely well for me. So, I do keep buying this lysine for my piggy and I will continue to do so. If you’re looking for lysine for an animal, I would definitely recommend anyone try this one out, it’s a very good deal.

I have a horse that had chronic rain rot. Nothing the vet prescribed would help. I started giving this to her, and within a few months her rain rot was completely gone! Mind you, it took some time, but it was a severe case that the mare had had for years! This lysine is a must have in our stable now!

Very good supplements for horses

This is great for lower-level performance horses. I use it to keep my guy in great physical shape and to help him recover after exercise. This alone won't build muscle, you'll have to have a routine too, but this can support them if they need it. Generally if they have low protein diets otherwise or if they don't receive a full serving a grain which most horses don't.

Awesome. I love it. I am using it on a senior gelding who needed to gain back some much needed weight and muscle . Obviously I gave this along with a very good diet. He can be finicky but with this product, such a small amount is used that he never refused it. I keep mine tightly sealed in the baggie and it doesn't clump at all. I have also used in on a cat with that chronic viral cold. It just takes a few small crumbled granules for the cat and he eats it in wet food. I will be ordering more when it runs out.

It has more of an odour than other lysine I have purchased, it's brown, not white, less processed I am guessing. Bought it to use for cats with URI who come into my rehab. Most eat it, others won't. Love the quantity but will likely go back to my original brand next purchase. For those that will eat it, it works miracles.
