Great dairy alternative
I gradually became allergic to dairy over the last couple of years and had to stop using whey protein. This is now my go-to protein. The taste is decent, yes it's just a touch "beefy," but mostly tastes like cocoa powder. You have to mix it well by shaking (kind of a lot, with an agitator ball in your blender cup), and it mixes best when warm. Directly with ice, it will be clumpy. So I generally shake it up hard in my cup with room temperature water, with the wire blender ball in it, then I add some ice. Interestingly, you can shake it and put it in the fridge and come back, and it will have dissolved in a kind of creamy way. Most importantly--zero stomach issues. Less than I had with whey, even when I could take dairy. And much much better than plant-based proteins I've tried and egg white protein (which destroyed me). So now I take this every day without issues, I'm glad I found it.

Good enough for the price
I got this because I figured the animal protein would be better used by my body than just plant protein. I would say it is "good enough for government work"! It doesn't taste great by itself. I mix it with chocolate orgain plant protein powder and peanut butter protein powder and my drink then tastes pretty good! I am happy this wasn't too expensive as we are on a budget. There are a few clumps that dont mix but I scoop those flew up with a spoon and just eat it so I dont miss out on the protein. I've never been a premadonna when it comes to food or flavor, so as long as you're not a whimp about it, its ok!

I Have Multiple Food Allergies - so glad they make this product!
I have food allergies to most high-protein foods. I can't handle eggs, milk-derived products from any animal, grains, and I try to stay away from beans for digestive issues. Nuts and seeds often grow mold and I'm very sensitive to mold so I can't have hemp or almond protein either. Basically, I have to eat the paleo diet, not by choice but out of necessity. I am soooo glad Olympian labs makes this protein powder. My body is so sensitive to chemicals and food additives, but I don't have a bad reaction to this. My nose gets a tiny bit more stuffy after I drink this shake, but not badly, and it only happens because I have a ridiculously sensitive immune system. I'm also so glad that this is sweetened with stevia, because I have blood sugar issues and have to eat a low-carb diet. Some people online were dissing beef protein powders in general because they're probably derived from left over 'bits' of the animal and ligaments and may be on par with gelatin. Well, gelatin promotes collagen production which makes you look younger, and it also helps keep your joints and connective tissues strong. I don't think anyone should expect a beef protein powder to be made out of dehydrated filet mignon, right? And if they're going to slaughter cows in the first place, isn't it better to make good use of the whole animal rather than letting any part of it go to waste? I was thinking of getting the beef protein powder by Carnivore as an alternative, but it contains ingredients derived from milk so I know I couldn't tolerate it. I'm glad Olympian Labs kept this one simple. I wish all companies would add as few potentially allergenic ingredients to their products as possible, if they aren't really needed. It can make all the difference to highly-allergenic individuals like me who need to be careful about everything we eat. Altogether, this is a great product and I highly recommend it.

Awful flavor
The flavor is awful. This is by far the worst tasting protein powder I have tried. I couldn't take more that 1 sip.

Decent protein, but not more digestable than whey
I bought this beef protein under the impression that whey proteins were messing with my stomach and bowel movements. I found that this powder also messes with my bowel movements, so I'll be going back to musclemilk which claims to be lactose free. Just thought I'd write that it didn't quite make my stomach feel better than other proteins. This stuff takes forever to mix up, a sign of a low quality shake. I wouldn't buy this if you're worried about stomach problems, because this stud is just as bad as any other protein, and tastes kinda like kaka.

Excellent taste!
This is the only time I've ever reviewed an item with no promptings or email requests from sellers. That's how impressed I am with this. This tastes so friggin' good!! Some time ago I developed an obssession with a certain fast food joint's chocolate milk shakes and it started to worry me. The cost for one but also the nutritional aspect. I had no idea what I was really drinking when it came to the ingredients. One day I randomly came across a guy on youtube who talked about how this protein drink was the only protein drink product he knew of that he could fully support due to the ingredients. Just for s***s and giggles I bought 2 since the price was right. As soon as I opened one, I immediately noticed that they sell by weight and not volume. These are only half full! That pissed me off quite a bit. I don't know much about shipping stuff so that was news to me...it might not be for you but FYI. I then blended a scoop with Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Vanilla flavored milk and took a sip. Holy !@#^$ cow!!! (no pun intended). Since then I have become hooked to this cause it's that good! I've also tried this with Blue Diamonds Original milk and still tasted good but slightly less sweet (obviously). No more chocolate shakes that are incredibly bad for me. No more guilt when I succumb to temptation while trying to take care of myself. No more looking for the next best protein drink product in the "health" industry. I'm sticking with this item and when able am going to buy more. The half full container still irks me but the taste is too distracting for me to care long term. Eventually I will probably add comfrey to make this even healthier! I've added cacao powder to give it a stronger chocolate taste and to make it healthier and it's friggin' awesome! One thing I might also do is add 1 or 2 ice cubes to make it colder....frankly I would recommend you do the same but to each their own. A word of warning and this is purely guessing. I looked up this company's website and couldn't find this product on their site. I am thinking that they have discontinued this product which explains the relatively low price which then means that eventually these will run out. If I am right, and again I haven't bothered to verify, then you may want to hurry it up with your purchase. Final thought: the reviewer who was bashing this product is very suspect to me. I can't help but think they might be a competitor or disgruntled former employee, etc but that's just me. I checked both of my containers for a "cancer sticker" and can't find any so again, not sure why the hissy fit from that doofus. All that said, if you want a delicious and extremely healthy protein drink instead of fast food milk shakes or protein drinks that have added crap put into them which then renders them unhealthy, then buy this and buy it now!

Made for those who can't consume dairy or whey!!
I have been using this beef protein powder for a year now. I drink three shakes a day and blend them with either almond or coconut milk. I can not process dairy and therefore can not tolerate whey or casien powder. Egg protein, pea protein, and rice protein also have given me digestive problems. This protein has been the best product I have come across in years! I can't go a day without it. The ingredients are simple and healthy. This is the only beef protein available without creatine too. I am a female and do not want to have creatine supplements in my diet. The only thing I wish they would have is a vanilla flavor, but other than that I give this product 5 stars all around. Great price too. Amazon has the best price on the internet and also the quickest shipping. I love this site and this product. This product also mixes and bakes easily. I have made protein pancakes, protein macaroons, and protein bars with it. And, if you want to really create a fabulous shake get the Frontier Flavor Extracts (my favorites are peppermint, maple, and butterscotch) and add a drop to a shake and you have one of the best tasting guilt free treats on earth! No Bake Chocolate Protein Macaroons - my recipe (picture included) 1/2 cup shredded unsweetened coconut 7 dates pitted 1/4 cup raw combined almonds/pecans 1 scoop chocolate protein powder 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp Frontier almond extract Flavor 2 tsp warm water Put all ingredients together in a food processor and mix until it all comes together. Form mixture into 8 balls. Roll in either unsweetened coconut or unsweetened cocoa. I added up the nutritional content for you also: 8 servings 82 calories per serving 4g protein per serving 5g carb per serving 5g fat per serving Protein powder used: Olympian Labs Chocolate Beef Protein

Pretty good for what it is!
I was worried about chocolate flavored meat taste, but it’s actually really good. I used a frother to mix it and there were still some small chunks but I think that’s more my error than the product. I appreciate that there’s no sugar- I’m really trying to keep my sugar down to 40-50g a day. I also like that it’s got stevia vs artificial sweeteners. I am definitely going to try other flavors that may have, and the price point isn’t bad either. Lots of plant based products cost significantly more and have more fillers instead. And no bloating whatsoever afterwards.
