Love this! I’m a college student and this has really helped me with my math classes

I don't do math anymore if I don't have to, but I do a lot of design work. I have a magnetic whiteboard that does fine for free-form drawing, but sometimes the elements have to fit into a space of a definite size. Having the grids I can just stick to the whiteboard gives me the option to play with sizes and spaces. I've also used it when I wanted to rearrange a room, I cut paper pieces to scale and drew on the gridded board the dimensions of the room. That let me see if I was setting myself up for a significant disappointment without actually having to move furniture around. I wanted to add some home gym equipment into a room, but having this spatial visual let me see that maybe something needed to go into another room.

This item has been such a life changer. I know it sounds silly but I really hated opening a text app every afternoon to display a sentence stem for my 1st grade students' daily journal. I saw this two piece magnetic handwriting set and I was so excited. It has a blank part, like the picture part in my students' journal, and a text part. Now all I have to do is write the date and the sentence starter and its ready to go. I have a small smart board and its so nice to have the text app off; I can now display a timer. Oh, in terms of quality, it is well made, good print/colors, and holds well to my normal white board in my classroom. I think it would be a fun tool to also use for Daily 6 rotations as well. Great product!

I originally ordered this set thinking it'd work really well in a pre-K classroom for group writing activities. However, my 7 year old artist lit up when I showed it to him, so it hasn't left my house yet and I'm not even bothered. The size of the magnets is nice and manageable for both adults and kids. He moves them around the house so he can draw and write. It's been a great fun way for him to play and practice without having him writing on every piece of paper, notebook, or cardboard box he finds around the house. I think I'll just have to get a second set for school!

I have tried this out with my kids and not only are the magnets decently strong, but this is big enough that if you are trying to teach a few kids at once you can give them each a quadrant and get them going. That said, this is best used for teachers (especially math ones) so they can easily have a grid on their board to go over key concepts. It is easily cleanable with a dry cloth and I have not had any staining so far, unlike other mats. Overall, a great buy if not a bit specialized.
