It works!
I was skeptical of this product and 100% do not expect it to be a long term solution but gave it a shot on my 07 Honda with 195,000 miles on it. A head gasket repair is not worth it on this vehicle due to price and value of vehicle. I figured this stuff can’t hurt and can at least get me by till I can find a new vehicle. I had a small leak of coolant into cylinder #5 and misfire on #5 that would lead to white smoke and a sweet smelling exhaust. I verified with a bore scope that coolant was leaking into #5 overnight. I added the Bars head gasket leak and followed the directions and the next morning no misfire and no white smoke or sweet smelling exhaust. Took it for a test drive and seems to run smooth and no hesitation that it was having before. For day one I’m impressed time will tell how long it last but hopefully I only need a few weeks before I find something to replace this vehicle with.

Wow just omg wow
Listen up everyone! Stop scrolling and read this!!! My trailblazer was acting like I had a blown head gasket or cracked head! Its a 2003 with well over 260k miles on her! Other than this shes done me so well. One morning I was on my way to the doctor's. I looked down at my gauges and my oil bottomed out the pressure in it. I was blowing white smoke out the back and then it stalled so I pulled over sat there a minute restarted it and the oil gauge went up so I got to the nearest store checked my oil my oil was low so I put oil in it It was fine for a little bit then it kept doing the same thing. So I went and got an opinion on what could be wrong and they had told me cracked head or head gaskets. I don't have $7,000 to pay to get it fixed when my truck is worth at top end $3,000. So I decided to do research and I came across this b a r s all the reviews I read we're good sorry I figured out I'll buy it give it a try. I got this in the mail read the directions did it to a t It took about three running cycles and my oil's been keeping pressure I haven't had any white smoke blowing out the back. This is the best stuff I have ever purchased for in my truck that actually worked Do not hesitate to buy this trust me it'll save you thousands of dollars whoever came up with this product I hope they're making bank because they're saving me bank.

I'm grateful
It really works! My 2GR-FE engine was overheating after about ten minutes from cold start, and I was losing coolant constantly. A combustion?leak test confirmed a blown head gasket. Repairing it would require pulling the engine—far too expensive for my car—so I tried this as a last resort, and the results have been fantastic. The coolant temperature returned to normal, and I’ve driven it for about a month with no issues. I still see a bit of coolant loss, but I’m not complaining—at least my car is back on the road!I'll update after one year or 2 years. I'll be grateful even if it can only last one year.

Skeptical but it worked for me!
I was skeptical at first but I watched numerous videos online and especially a video from Chris Fix who did a video of this product and opened up the radiator after the treatment and zero blockage. Plus if you understand how this product works (triggered by heat and then cooling) you’ll understand that since the radiator is cooling the product immediately that it won’t react within the radiator. Now my situation was ideal for this product, I had a warped engine block from after replacing my head gasket and overheating so there was a micro gap in one cylinder that was slowly burning off coolant.I’m three weeks post treatment and no more white smoke and no more topping off the coolant reservoir. Let’s see how long it holds up

Did not work
I talked to a Bar's leak tech rep before using this and followed his recommendation to flush the cooling system completely before adding half a bottle to my 2.5L 2006 Subaru forester engine which had bubbles in the cooling reservoir, was loosing antifreeze, and obviously had a blown head gasket. It was not overheating after their recommended test of 20 minutes, in fact it would take three for four hours before it lost enough antifreeze to overheat. I added the HG-1 per his recommendation and followed the directions to a tee. It initially cleared up the white smoke coming from the tail pipe but didn't stop the bubbles in the reservoir or loss of antifreeze. After about a week, I spoke to another tech rep who recommended that I drain the cooling system, refill with a second application of Bar's Leak HG-1 and follow the instructions again which I did. I've been driving it for about a month now and I still have the problem along with a lot of gray gunk in my cooling system. I called a Bar's leak tech rep again (April 2020) and he did not have any other ideas except to say that it doesn't work on all engines but that they would send me my money back or send me another bottle of HG-1. the only hitch was that I needed to get a statement from a repair shop that the car still needed a head gasket replacement. This is an example of a worthless warranty. If I take it to a shop it will cost me at least $100 to get such a statement and I only paid about $34 for the HG-1. The car is old enough that putting $2K or $3K into a head gasket replacement is not worth it so I am just going to live with the problem and fill up the radiator when it needs it. Based on my experience, don't count on this product to fix your head gasket problem despite all the positive reviews out there. I thought I did my homework by reading these but was totally misled. This is not the cure that is 'guaranteed' on the box cover. You will just waste your money.

Worked for me
I've used this product twice on two separate vehicles (naturally aspirated V6 and naturally aspirated inline 4) and it worked both times. In both instances I caught the head gasket leak very early, and in both instances the cooling system was very clean. Make sure to change your oil a few drive cycles after adding the sealant in case you had any coolant in your oil.
