The zero-drop platform feels balanced and promotes a more natural stride, especially on uneven terrain. The grip on these shoes is phenomenal — whether I’m running through muddy trails, loose gravel, or rocky inclines, the MaxTrac outsole keeps me stable and confident. The updated midsole cushioning strikes a perfect balance between softness and responsiveness, absorbing impact without feeling spongy. They’re also lightweight and breathable, which keeps my feet cool even on long summer runs. Best shoes ever! I have diabetes and walk a ton at work, so my feet constantly bother me. My toes always feel crammed into my shoes. I’ve been wearing these for a few months now and have had zero issues! I’ve tried every other shoe you can think of but this is the one that worked. The wide toe area lets you feet breath and the shoe itself is very comfortable. I had to buy a few pairs and this will be my go to shoes for work!

I've got extremely wide feet. I've had problems all my life finding shoes or boots that don't kill my feet. These are great. I don't run anymore but I do wear shoes. Great tread so no falling. Feel great on my feet. If you have wide feet then consider these.

Everyone’s feet are different, but for me, the ALTRA Lone Peak 9's have been one of my favorite purchases ever for hiking and backpacking. The fit and shape feel very natural and comfortable. On my first outing, I hiked 60 miles with no break-in and didn’t get a single blister. I’m now well over 100 miles on them, and the wear has been minimal. They aren’t waterproof, but I actually prefer the breathability, they dry quickly and keep my feet cooler and less sweaty. The tread and grip are excellent, performing well across a variety of terrains. The all-black color is clean and understated, which I really appreciate compared to the loud colors of many trail runners. I even wear them for walking 18 holes of golf quite often. While I still wear my golf shoes when using a cart, it’s hard to go back to them after experiencing the wide, comfortable toe box of these shoes. Overall, I think they’re a versatile, comfortable, and high-performing shoe for hiking, backpacking, and everyday wear.

I bought these for my husband who was complaining about some foot pain in current shoes. I have a pair of Altra's and love them! They have a really nice wide toe bed and give you that extra room you need. They have nice support, are incredibly comfort and still stylish. I've not had any foot problems since switching to these shoes and I wanted to share that experience with him.

I’ll start by saying that anyone who reads shoe reviews should take them with a grain of salt. Everybodys feet are different, and no two people will ever have the same experience with a particular shoe. I have “wider” feet. And by that, I mean that I can generally fit into a regular shoe with some slight discomfort, and they will usually stretch out to the point where they are ok to wear and don’t bother me. I prefer to get “wide” shoes when they are available. They just feel way more comfortable. With these, I got a size 12 Wide. They felt very comfortable right out of the box. I ended up doing a 12 mile hike in the White Mountains of NH the day after they were delivered on wet, gravely, steep terrain. Almost no break in period. I wore them around the house and ran to the super market the day I received them. No blisters. No discomfort. Very well made, stylish and durable shoe. The traction of the soles is decent, but not superb. The heels definitely don’t have a lot of traction of descents, and in general the sole doesn’t have great traction on wet rocks. It had rained heavily the previous night in the area I hiked, so everything was very wet. Overall, I think it’s a great shoe. A little pricey in my opinion. I don’t imagine they will outlast my Merrells as far as durability, but they’re a decent shoe to have in my collection. As a side note, if you’re looking to order the Maroon color, just know that they are almost more like a weird shade of dark purple. Not at all what I was expecting. I would have ordered black if I had know that. Included are before and after 1 hike pictures.

Was looking for a zero drop shoe with extra grip to be a daily walker and hiker. These fit the bill perfectly. They seem extremely well made and have held up well to abuse after 6 months. Chances are I'll still be wearing these 10 years from now. They do squeak on tile floors when wet, but that's the price of the tread pattern.

Endlich mal ein Schuh der an die natürliche Fuß Form angepasst ist! Warum andere Hersteller noch nicht auf die Idee gekommen sind Schuhe herzustellen die auch der Form eines Fußes entsprechen verstehe ich nicht. Das war mein erster Schuh von Altra und wird sicher nicht der letzte sein, bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Tragekomfort und dem Design. Im Gegensatz zu gewöhnlichen Barfußschuhen ist dieser auch mit einer Sohle und Profiel eines Sportschuh ausgestattet was in zusätzlich bequem und für Wanderungen optimal macht. Auf jeden Fall weiter zu empfehlen.👍🏽
