Panasonic Cordless Phone, 1.6" Backlit Display, Call Block, Speakerphone, 10 Hours Talk Time, 2 Handsets - KX-TGC202B (Black)

I got this phone as a replacement for an old Panasonic phone. Its functionality and design are greatly improved. It was easy to set up. The sound is great. I love its special features - call waiting, blocking unwanted calls, phonebook, and the option to adjust the sound volume. Setting up the primary phone automatically sets up the secondary phone with identical features. The intercom allows calling people in other parts of the house. No more running upstairs or hollering. We love it! I'm glad I bought an updated version of a similar Panasonic phone that served us well for many years.

This phone well, voices are clear, easy to set up and the battery lasts all day. There is one feature that we miss. On incoming calls, you are NOT alerted via voice who is calling. So we then either have to get up to see who is calling (big problem with the numerous robo calls) or have the phone near you. Other that, this phone works very well.

This is a great phone. Wonderful range in our two story home. It is easy to use for my daughters.

The sound quality and performance of this system is very good. I ordered it because Panasonic's web page giving the specifications of this phone specifically state that the prerecorded answering machine greeting has English and Spanish versions. The unit I received has only English. Using Spanish or French greetings is one means I like to use to discourage telemarketing calls. I expected more of Panasonic than that. Contacting their customer service by phone is essentially impossible. One is informed by the automated system that they may not be able to answer the call, and, after a few minutes one gets a busy signal and that ends the call. My question about the greeting language was eventually answered through emails to their customer service. Here is the response they gave: "We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience you experienced with the web site and the incorrect information that was listed.We would also like to apologise for the Customer Service that you received and would like for you to know that we value your feedback and most importantly being of consumer of Panasonic products. Unfortunately it is unclear as to why the web site listed such incorrect information however we assure you that this telephone system you selected is one of the best models we have available and to obtain additional troubleshooting assistance for your product, please contact our Panasonic Customer Call Center at (800)211-7262. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 9AM to 9 PM. Saturday and Sunday 10 AM to 7PM Eastern Standard Time. A representative will be available to assist you. Please have your case number, which is listed at the top portion of your e-mail, available at the time of the call." Don't waste your time calling their customer service. We are keeping the system because it is of good quality and it does have call blocking. However, we continue to use an old Uniden answering machine--which is not of good quality--because it has prerecorded greetings in French, Spanish, and English. We wonder if Panasonic provides prerecorded greetings in French for Quebec or Spanish greetings for Puerto Rico, etc.

I was going to replace the battery on my old cordless. But with shipping it was going to run about $13. I wasn't sure if the battery would be old or new since this handset was more than 10 years old. So after some research found this at a used price from Amazon. For around $25 I got 2 handsets with batteries that last about 6-7 days. The old one barely lasted a day. The base is a little smaller than the old one I had. There's no way to increase the volume on the recorded messages. It sounds a bit low. There's also no beeping sound to alert you that there's a recorded message. There's a text message on the phone screens. You can listen to the messages on the handsets. A lot of features. Scam call blocking. Noticed less robo calls after installing this. Great phone so far. A great value with a lot of features.
