Bought this for my 1996 ford ranger and it fit properly and works as it should

This seems to be a good replacement filler neck hose. Appears well-made. The original Ranger hoses seem to crack/fail at the spud of the gas tank where the outer hose attaches. I started noticing gas running on the ground whenever I topped off the gas tank. I first noticed this sometime in 2020 (when the truck was 24 years old). I finally decided to replace the hose recently. I did the job by removing the tank from the vehicle (I also renewed the fuel pump and the two tank-holding straps at this time). I would definitely NOT recommend doing it this way. After the fact, I found out that it is quite easy to remove the entire bed, which gives access to the top of the tank where the filler hose attaches, and also allows for easy access to the fuel pump and other components. To remove the bed there are only 6 ea T55 head bolts, the two taillight electrical connectors, and the 3 small sheet metal screws holding the filler neck to the body at the fill door. (There are numerous videos on YouTube showing how to do this. They say two average people can lift the bed off once unbolted/disconnected.) To replace the filler neck hose from below, you have to support the tank with a floor jack or similar, remove the two tank straps (first run the tank down till nearly MT, or pump out the gas), and drop the tank down until you can access the hose clamp holding the filler hose to the tank spud, so you can loosen the clamp and pry off the hose. This wasn't too bad, and after disconnecting the filler neck from the body I was able to remove the old filler neck hose from the vehicle. The difficulty arose when installing the new filler neck hose. Because of the bent nature of the hose and the fact that it is large, it is difficult to pull the hose all the way down of the left (driver's) side of the spud, while simultaneously tightening the hose clamp. Maybe if you are very strong you can do this easily, but I had trouble. I finally got the hose down far enough where I got it clamped and it should be OK, but it wasn't that easy for me. It would definitely be easier from on top with the bed removed, and I will be doing it this way if I ever need to again. It is also possible to remove/replace the tank-holding straps by merely supporting the tank with a jack (or remove/replace one at a time). The tank can stay up in place for this. I suppose if you have access to a lift and can get the vehicle way off the ground, removing/installing the tank isn't bad, but doing this with the rear end on jack stands is definitely a giant PITA. In any case, I like this new filler neck hose, and do recommend it.

Product was easy to install. On my Ford I lifted the front of the bed per a Youtube vid. Worked great. Clamps are 8mm instead of 5/16". What??? The quality is good; will last on my 95 another 20 or so yrs.

This fit perfectly on my 1994 Ford Ranger with 2.3 L in engine. Remember to replace this to remove the bed then to try to remove the gas tank. YouTube videos will show you everything now. I can finally fill up my gas tank without gas going everywhere would highly recommend.

I have seen a few reviewers saying it was too short or too long. There are 3 wheel base sizes and extended cab vs regular. Mine was for the 125 inch wheel base and fit perfectly. So make sure you order the right one for your vehicle. Don't order the wrong one and then give it a bad review because it doesn't fit. Secondly, I have seen people claim the 3 holes for the 7mm bolts don't line up. If you follow instructions everything lines up and fits perfectly. Last but not least, the rubber on these is very thick, close to 1/4 inch. I am very pleased with the quality and instructions. Thanks.

this came in two pieces, so you have to insert the small hose into the large hose. one of the worm clamps came apart when i was loosening it for installation. move your bed backwards 8 inches to get to the top of the tank and access the old hose. tighten the lower clamp on the tank first so you can reach it. be sure your orientation is correct before tightening the clamp. attach the upper mount first before tightening the upper worm clamp. this will allow for some small adjustments in or out and get the 3 screws in the correct locations

Replaced the fuel pump in the 96 Ranger and found the filler hose was cracked. Not about to spend 3 figures on an OEM for a 24 year old truck. Installed without a problem, no leaks, gas cap fits. Good deal for the money.
