Great little speaker for just about everything
This speaker is awesome. The sound quality is great once I got the EQ down. Having the 7 band EQ is a big bonus over the previous generation. The battery live is super impressive as well. I took this guy on a camping trip right out of the box without charging it and played music for around 5 hours at a decent volume at our campsite and then for about another 6 hours while doing some spring cleaning. It's a perfect size to fit into a backpack or cupholder and the controls are pretty easy to use. My only con is that you can't connect to older JBL speakers which isn't that big of a deal but it would have been a nice feature to have.

Better battery life compared to past versions
Great little BT speaker. Holds a charge way longer that past versions.

Impressive sound quality and volume
There are a lot of things I liked about the Flip 7, and only a couple of issues that you should know about.First, the sound quality is really good for a portable speaker that's this small. A lot of speakers in this size range suffer on the low end, and even the midrange can sound weak. The Flip 7, however, is really well balanced. The lows aren't ground shaking, but they're good!Second, the volume is really impressive! Honestly, this little speaker gets surprisingly loud. For personal listening, I never went above 30% volume. If you crank this up into the 80% volume range, then you're DJing for the whole backyard. At the higher volume levels (above 80%), there is some distortion, but I never felt the need to go that loud.Third, the battery life is impressive. I got 12 hours of playback, even at louder volumes! That's truly a whole day of music without charging up.Fourth, it was easy to set up, as are most bluetooth speakers by now. You press and hold the bluetooth button on the speaker, then connect the device from the Bluetooth settings on your phone (or whatever you're playing music from). The signal is strong enough that you can carry your phone back indoors even while the speaker remains outside, and the music carries on.With that said, here are my few concerns...First, this speaker is really only meant for music or maybe something like podcasts or audiobooks. Unfortunately, there's a slight lag with the bluetooth, so it doesn't work well when paired with video. The audio will always be about a half-second behind the video. It's subtle, but it's annoying enough that I wouldn't recommend using this speaker for watching a movie or playing video games.Second, they make a bit of a fuss about the "PushLock" accessory system. Out of the box, you get a carry strap accessory and a carabiner accessory. The PushLock system works fine. Indeed, it's easy to switch between these two accessories. But why? Unless there are some interesting additional accessories coming soon, I'm not sure what the point is.Finally, the speaker does not come with a charging cable. I don't actually think this is a bad thing, per se, but it's something you need to know. A lot of people now have so many USB-C cables lying around that we really don't need another one with every device. Then again, some people surely do need or want one. The main thing is, I don't want you to be surprised about it when you open the box. If you think you'll need a USB-C cable for this speaker, you'll have to buy it separately. The price is the only other factor that I think is worth considering. I hope the price comes down over time, because it faces stiff competition from brands like Soundcore (Anker). I can find a Soundcore speaker that costs less than this (more like $60) with similar battery life and volume. For $110, I can find a Soundcore speaker that has longer battery life and is about 3x louder too. JBL may have an edge over Soundcore on sound quality, but I still think they're pricing themselves too far above the competition right now.

JBL Continues to Deliver
Purchased the Flip7 after selling my pair of 6s. This speaker delivers the JBL quality that I’ve come to expect and enjoy. Definitely recommend and better if you buy two to pair in stereo.

Would be great if it came with a charging cord.
Totally unacceptable that this speaker does not come with a charging cord! WTF how am I supposed to care it? I may return it because of this.

Amazing sound for such a small speaker
This is my first JBL Flip 7 speakers and I am totally impressed with the quality. First, let's talk about what speakers are supposed to do - play music. For the size of the speakers, the sound quality is very impressive. JBL speaker are known for its bass and these doesn't disappoint. Even though it is small size, you can enjoy all three ranges reasonably well. These speakers also pass the test at high volume. There are some distortion at volume above 80-85%, however, it wasn't a lot. So, you can enjoy a quiet song or get your backyard party going with these speakers.Connectivity was a brisk and I haven't seen any connectivity issues while playing. It can also connect to two devices at a time so you can switch between the devices seamlessly. The JBL app is also great to have. It has some custom build EQ including JBL Signature. You can also create your own with 7 band customizable EQ setting. You can also pair another speaker for stereo effect as well as use Auracast to cast music from one device to unlimited number of devices. The battery life is pretty good. It gave me more than 10 hours of playback thus far and still not completely out of juice. Though I am keeping it at low volume for personal use. There is a powerboost option also that can give you extra 2 hours. However, you would loose the bass et al, so I would rather charge it or carry a battery pack. It doesn't come with the cord. And I am actually happy with that. These days most of the devices use USB C charging so I have so many of those. I am glad I don't have to store another cable. In terms of looks, these are simply great. The speaker is portable and easy to carry. The cylindrical shape makes it easy to put in your backpack where the bottle goes for quick easy access. There are also two options to hang - a carabiner or a strap. They both can be easily replaced with a push of a button. The volume and play/pause button are engraved on the speakers, while the aurocast, bluetooth and power button are light up. The speaker are also waterproof, dustproof and can withstand fall from 1 m. So, very durable speakers for outdoors.Overall, JBL doesn't disappoint with these speakers. They are worth the price for a good quality small speakers.
