Work perfectly smoothly
Work very and perfectly smoothly the spring is soft and strong enough to avoid any irregularities on the engraving path. Used with a CNC 3018 pro

Excellent little engraving bit, especially for low power machines.
This drag engraver works by driving a spring-loaded diamond tip into the material, and dragging it to make the engraving. This means that you don’t have to have a powerful machine to mark hard metals like stainless or hardened tool steel. I used it on a cheap 1610 CNC machine, and the results are phenomenal. As long as you set the correct spring tension for the material, you will get a precise, clean engraving every time.

CNC Scribing
I am using this tool to engrave acrylic. I found the tool to be able to produce very quality engraving, I have tested on very fine scribe line.

Good for acrylic, but quite useless on glass
It engraves nicely on acrylic but got dull pretty fast on glass (non tempered). The scratches were very good at the beginning but during the project (this Lamborghini on a piece of 30x24cm glass), the scratches were harder and harder to see until there were no scratches to be found anymore. It can still be used on acrylic though. This picture was after the bit got dull on the glass (I don't have a picture of that) and re-engraved on acrylic.

Works perfectly on CNC
Bought this bit in 2019, but just found a use for it in 2023. It worked great at 40% power setting using Aspire. Set my clearance, plunge, and Z gap above material all to .15, using 90 deg bit. I will be purchasing the 60 & 120 deg bits for other projects.

Supremely versatile
I have used this bit, intended or not on: glass, aluminum, even stainless steel. It is profoundly effective. I known 60$ is alot, but this is the single most reliable bit you can get.

If you want to engrave acrylic for LED signs, this bit is a miracle worker!
It may seem pricey, but you get what you pay for. Having a spring is crucial for slightly irregular pieces of acrylic where the height is off by .1 millimeter or so. But with the spring, the end result is perfectly even engraving.

I love this thing!
I bought this to try my hand at making edge lit acrylic signs. It is Awesome! My very first attempt went flawlessly--honestly better than I had hoped. I had left out some of the finer detail because I was not expecting the clarity. I went back and added in the additional lines, and you cannot tell the difference. I need to buy the replacement tip just to be safe, but I have used this pretty consistently for a month or so with no obvious degradation in quality so far. (If Amazon let's me edit this, I will add a picture or two.)
