Great to find this from Türkiye! Before retiring I made frequent business trips to Ankara and Istanbul. This spice is a mainstay in Turkish food—especially kofte and red lentil soup—and I love it. It is called pul biber in the giant Istanbul spice market and I used to have a kilo at a time packaged for travel. Great to have a Turkish-based source now, and at a great price too.

I put it into a glass jar with a tight fitting lid for storage. You can also keep it in the fridge or the freezer to keep it fresh longer, there was a lot in the package!

Aleppo chili pepper from Turkey is a new addition to my spice cabinet. Open the package and gently smell its fragrance and bite the dark red of its color. Mild not spicy chiloso like jalapeño or red chili flakes. Package in a ziplock 5oz bag. Make your own hummus, added to soups and make the chili oil to put over cream cheese for an appetizer. The color of Aleppo oil amazing. Add a pinch of red chili powder of your choice if heat is desired. Priced well.

I tried these as an alternative to red pepper flakes. I find them to be a little milder making it easier to control the spice levels.

I use Aleppo pepper when I cook, I found this to be very fresh and added a great taste to whatever I used it for. I recommend this product.
