I am a mascara nut and finally finally here is a clean one that works!

I was all pumped up to try this after hearing about it from a well known You Tuber who swears by it. I'm very selective about make up brands and cruelty free, vegan standards. Tarte has a great line of vegan and cruelty free products but I just learned their parent company, Kose', DOES test on animals so technically Tarte does not but their ownership company does. This is disappointing considering money on Tarte is still dipping into the overall pot and supporting Kose. The mascara itself will get 5 stars for lightness, extended lash length and moderate volume. The brush is awesome and really helps separate and lift. This is a great natural looking daytime mascara and will not give you clumps or spider leg lashes. If you want party lashes go with a thicker formula. This really adds the perfect touch to sprucing up your eyes without looking overdone! It also washes off easily. 0 stars for KOSE' for animal testing and a hope that Tarte will keep their dignity of cruelty free and vegan based cosmetics and consider switching at some point to a parent company with sane practices. If I would have known this before buying the mascara I would not have purchased it so wanted to provide this feedback as educational caution.

I cannot say enough about this mascara. I wear contact lenses and also work in a kitchen for 9-12 hours a day. It is extremely difficult to find mascara that holds up in that environment but does not irritate my contacts. LCL is the only mascara I go back to repeatedly, and I have used countless brands and formulas. Despite not being labeled as waterproof, this has stood up to sudden tears, sweat, and kitchen humidity without running or causing raccoon eyes. The expiration code on this is also longer than your standard drugstore mascara. It will not dry up in a week, or even by the time you actually reach the expiration. This provides length and volume, but with little clumpiness. Removal is moderately easy- I use neutrogena foaming face wash at night, but have found that it does not remove all mascara. I would recommend following up with micellar water or an eye makeup remover (my preference being the micellar water due to its gentle nature).

Works good for length, volume not so much

Surprised with the outside covering for this mascara but immediately upon using discovered how well it fits the hand and actually aids in turning the wand so that both sides may be easily used. The black color is deeply pigmented, and the mascara applies smoothly and is quite buildable. I prefer a couple of coats without allowing any drying time between coats. The brush catches all the lashes. I have bangs and often mascara will flake when my bangs touch my lashes. This one does not nor does it cause raccoon eyes even after hours of wear in humid Florida. It is easily removed with face wipes. Really happy with this product.

I seriously cannot say enough good things about this product. I wear contacts, and it does not irritate them at all! It has a great consistency when applying. It thickens and lengthens my lashes. I am a nurse and It did not fall off or crumble on my face, even after a 12 hour shift!! It washes off easily! I am over the moon excited to find this mascara as my eye are so sensitive and easily irritated by make up. I never leave product reviews but I felt compelled to share my experience with this amazing product. I am hooked!!

This was the first time I tried this product and it's pretty good. My mother discovered it and she has very expensive taste so if she says it's good it probably is! My sister and I have both switched over. I have naturally long lashes but they are thin and blonde so a couple coats of this really does wonders. It is a little pricier than I am used to...I had been previously using a false fiber L'Oréal mascara for YEARS because it worked fairly well and was only like $11. However I think this product is worth the price jump, especially being Tarte!

Many lady’s like this and those who do...their lashes look gorgeous. I was so excited but each time I try to use this, it just globs on my lashes so then I have to try to separate them. Even after I wipe each side of the brush to remove excessive product, it still globs on. I don’t know...maybe it’s the brush itself? I keep trying but so far the application hasn’t improved and I continue to get too much product on my lashes that all stick together
