My son is a captain of his high school varsity wrestling team, so my wife and I are roped into a lot of work, like arranging transportation to tournaments, arranging the snack bar at home matches, and planning the end-of-season banquet. I was tasked with the table decorations and treats. I had already bought big bags of chocolate treats, and wanted to contrast that with the tart smarties. I didn't care about the box they came in, but for shopkeepers, you could certainly use them. We had 8 tables of wrestlers, so this 160 count provided the perfect amount divided among the tables. They are genuine Smarties and buying in bulk makes them about $0.07 per candy.

I love these Smarties. But not as a mindless sweet that will satisfy candy cravings. I am an insulin-controlled diabetic and I keep my sugar levels on the tight side. Because of that, sometimes my blood sugars drop too low which can be dangerous. Diabetics have dextrose tablets that can be bought at pharmacies and which every insulin-controlled diabetic should carry in case of hypoglycemia. Not only are these tablets on the bulky side to carry in my handbag (even in those tubes they generally sell them in), but I also don't like their taste that much. Basically, Smarties have the same ingredients, they taste so much better, and are easier to carry in my handbag. Each Smarties roll has 6 Gms of sugar which is enough for my blood sugar to get out of the danger range. Occasionally I will need two rolls. I don't need to use them a lot so this 2-lb bag should last me for a good long while and I would never intentionally give myself too much insulin just so I could eat these. But I think they're a great alternative to those dextrose tablets.

I get these every year for trunk or treat. Kids love them and you get a lot in a box

Can't go wrong with smarties. These arrived on time and the candy rolls were all good with no broken or damaged rolls. No complaints for me. If you are a stickler for having the "original packaging", then these may not be good for you as they arrived in a sealed bag with no markings or labeling. Not a big deal for me as they ate the same and that is all that matters.
