Good microwave at a cheap price and the least frustrating child proof lock
I bought this microwave primarily because, after 75 years of commercial availability, the intelligence level of our society has collapsed to the point that it intersects with the mad rush to have the government regulate everything. Now, microwave ovens are required to have childproof locks on the doors—even in households and other environments that never see children. This model has the idiocracy built right into the handle, letting me trigger the childproof feature in the same step I use to open the door. It allows me to pretend we don’t live in a dystopian world ruled by bureaucrats. All the other microwave ovens I looked at use a two-step process that would only frustrate people who just want to open a darn microwave door. This model comes with a warning sticker on the door explaining how to open it. If you're a landlord or have a VRBO, you'll want to leave the sticker on because otherwise somebody is going to rip the handle off trying to get the door open, or maybe even go the nuclear option and try to pry it open with a knife. People aren't going to stand there trying to solve a microwave rubicks cube at the expense of their Hot Pocket getting cold. Even when it's for the children! I have no doubt this microwave is actually using all 700 watts of its rated power. It outcooks the 700-watt Sunbeam it replaced—the little ray of sunshine that opened either by pulling the door or pressing the huge “open” button, without any needless bureaucratic hurdles or handles standing in the way. A microwave oven from a more civilized age. My only major complaint about this microwave is that the keypad requires superhuman strength in the fingers to register that a button has been pressed. I recommend putting your shoulder into it and letting your body weight do the work to avoid getting an injury. The microwave needs to be up against a wall to use it because the force required to use the keypad will push the microwave back until there is something to stop it, and then you need to keep pushing until it beeps. And if you want, for example, to hold the "4" button down for it automatically start for 4 minutes instead of pressing 4-0-0-start, you have to maintain Herculean pressure against the 4 button for several strenuous seconds, straining to keep your knuckles from buckling like you're trying to hold an entire set of encyclopedias against the wall using only the strength from a single finger. And I mean all the encyclopedias. From A to Z. It's easier to do 4-0-0-start so frankly that feature requiring the encyclopedia maneuver is worthless. I suppose the manufacturer is trying to future-proof their microwaves against full-blown microwave tyranny, where even the buttons would have to be childproof, because frankly, these buttons already are. The microwave works well, it looks sleek, it is the proper size and noise level for it's wattage, it needs to be up against a wall, and the child-proof door opening mechanism is the best in it's class.

Works great – 5 star update
UPDATE 2/25/2026 - 5 stars once again! The cracking plastic over the buttons is a thin plastic that can be peeled off. My microwave oven looks brand new again and works perfectly. I didn't see that this could be peeled off in the instructions. Nevertheless – I love this microwave. UPDATE: one week in - I removed a star. The plastic shield over the controls is cracking over the start button. (How can this be with only one week of use?) I added a photo of the start button. I like everything else about the microwave. But I’m really bothered by this discovery. PREVIOUS REVIEW: It’s nice looking. Low moisture inside after cooking - It must have good ventilation. I’ve cooked oatmeal, vegetables, thawed meat, and boiled water so far. My old 700w microwave would have dripped condensation from the door when I opened it. I love being able to silence the beeper permanently. Seems to run quietly as well. I’m still getting used to the controls, and the childproof door, but that will become second nature after using it a while. It’s very compact - interior opening being 6” high. The size works fine for me. My dishes fit. It’s half the price of what I paid for my previous microwave. This is just my 3rd day using it, but in my opinion, it is equal, if not better than the 700w microwave I had before. It’s perfect for me. Hope it lasts a long time.

Small & Mighty
Just what I wanted for the kitchen counter - works great. Kind of tight placing a dinner plate in to reheat. I’m very pleased with this unit.

Great price & quality product
Excellent product great price point. I would given it 5 stars. One thing I find a flaw.. Is wheel alignment mechanism the plate sits upon. You must always re-adjust it. This is only applicable to those who purchase this product for semi-truck. If the microwave is used in a stable non moving environment no issue. -great functionality -Noise level is normal - I choose the color black (blend nicely) - Nice preprogrammed timer option Other than that, it’s an excellent quality for space conscience consumers.

Great small microwave
This is such a great find and especially at this price ($68) on sale. I had another one of those child resistant locks and it was such a nuisance the amount of times I had to unlock it that I got rid of it. I wanted a small microwave and this is perfect for my needs. I checked online for best small microwave and this came up a lot. The cook time work great. It is sleek, small and doesn't take up a lot of space. Perfect

Excellent for small spaces
Had this for about six months now and it is wonderful. A bit lower powered than other microwaves, but it provides even heat as long as it runs for long enough. Compact and fits well in my small kitchen, and the buttons/settings are easy to navigate.

Nice little microwave
The microwave works fine for the son I bought it for, but remember it is only 700 watts. He likes it and that’s all that counts. His girlfriend likes it also and that’s a double plus! It fit on their counter in the spot they wanted it to be. It’s a nice little microwave.

Adequate and fits small spaces
I think most of the reason I don’t like it are just personal preference. The door latch design is too awkward and it is much smaller than anticipated. Works with no issues and does fit very well in the small space I put it in!

I am very happy with this little microwave. I didn’t find the buttons hard to press like some people mentioned. I like the choices on the presets. I just received it today and used it to heat my supper up and it worked perfectly. It is quite small, but that’s fine for me, my previous microwave was quite big and I only really used it to heat things up anyway. I bought the Chefman specifically because I had just bought one of their air fryers and I was so pleased with it. I thought I’d stick to that same brand. I think it’s great value for money and does exactly what it says it does.

This was such a great deal!! This was perfect for my house that didn’t include a microwave!! The inside is a bit small but it works perfect for us!! The child lock is also very good and helpful!

This is a great first microwave, budget friendly, and works great. Although I would get the larger size next time as some of my plates don't fit in it, just make sure you read the dimensions.

Absolutely! Here’s a more engaging version of the text: "Yes, it's cozy. Just the right size for one person, a charming little nook where the aromas of freshly brewed coffee mingle with the warmth of leftover meals."or one person, a charming little nook where the aromas of freshly brewed coffee mingle with the warmth of leftover meals."
