WORKS ALMOST TOO WELL, CAN'T KEEP UP WITH IT! =D
TL:DR: Just buy it already, you'll love it, AND try to buy a used / refurb / returned one from Amazon marketplace to save money!LOVE that I bought this one as an Amazon Marketplace USED item: as always, not disappointed with my choice for savings, that's for sure! Paid $ 746 instead of $1180, and the only thing 'wrong' with it was the tiniest of dents in the bottom metal liner-tray, so simply a small cosmetic thing that does not impinge on use at allI highly recommend purchasing refurb / used / barely returned items from Marketplace, have never been disappointed yet, and have saved literally THOUSAND of dollars, mostly on big-ticket items, including a tri-fuel generator, but also on a myriad of little, everyday things: helps to avoid returned items going to trash AND saves you money. What's not to like?I already owned one of the older 9-tray plastic ones, but it has never been enough for processing my spring through autumn harvesting of medicinal herbs, plus fruit, veggies, making flavoured condiment salts, leathers, jerky, & so much more. It was running 24 /7 for months at a time, so decided to add this one to ensure nothing went to waste waiting for a tray spotLOVE that it is just a tad larger footprint than my old one, & sturdy stainless, so the old one is now on top of the new one, double stacked. PERFECT! (SEE PIC OF STACK)LOVE that the 10th extra tray gets me to 16 sq ft in this machine (plus the 14+ on the old one makes it a much more effective drying surface for my needs)LOVE that because of the steel construction it is QUIETER that the older one, with its rattling plastic front doorLOVE that the front door is glass, & I can check on status without opening the machine; I'm now considering purchasing a glass vertical front door for my old machine! (SEE PIC)I love that I can do the double-heat timing: a couple hrs at higher temps for my medicinal herbs especially, to just get the high-water content evaporated, then auto-switching to 95 F for that 'living foods' ultra low temp for nutrient & medicinal constituents preservationWhile the glass doors took more than a few minutes to install/ fidget with to get the perfect placement, & tho they have that (counterintuitive, but INTENTIONAL, for proper airflow!) gap between them, I LOVE that this newer model dries stuff way faster & more efficiently than my old one. Since the thermal unit and the fan are virtually identical, I believe /am guessing that it's the airflow design that is helping the efficiency. Items started at same time in both machines are perfectly dry hours sooner in the new one, even when I have not used the dual-temp set to fast-remove initial water contentI have found myself having to keep an eye on it & change my long-established timetables for my herbs etc, & creating new ones for this machine: don't over-dry your stuff if you get this & are used to the older, flat-front vertical cover machines. Also have found myself of course refilling the trays over and over, and having down time (GASP!) between batches when I was not ready with the next thing LOL It's too efficient, dang itLOVE A TAD LESS: small drawback that I have experienced, & which has been mentioned in other reviews, is that the metal trays are indeed not quite exactly square, nor do they always slide easily in & out on those weird little side shelf-rails. Because metal tolerances in manufacturing are seldom exact for general, non-tech items, some trays are harder to get in an out, & sometimes a tray falls sideways off one of the rails if I don't place it exactly (SEE PIC OF TRAY FALLEN)LOVE A TAD LESS: also, the metal trays have a center under-bar for stability. That bar makes it at times very hard to flex the tray enough to get it in some of those above-mentioned narrower slides when doing a 1/4 turn. Not impossible, but a minor, annoying inconvenienceLOVE A TAD LESS: MOST ANNOYING of these minor issues is that the trays also have a wider mesh (SEE PIC) than the old, white-plastic liners, so when drying things like mushroom pieces, or small-leaved herbs, you have no choice but to use a solid silicone liner or paper liner, otherwise small items fall right through after they dry. Not a problem if you do a whole-machine load of the same stuff, but I seldom do that in daily use, so don't want my mushroom pieces to fall on top of the oregano! Having to use a solid liner of some type kinda defies the whole idea of air-flow for faster, more efficient drying. I prefer having to use solid liners only for wet, drippy things, such as rollups, drying soup, marinated jerky, etc

Great but some shelves are too big to fit.
Excellent item. A couple of the shelves do not fit very well. You have to almost bend them to get them in, but otherwise it’s great. Get the parchment paper and save yourself a lot of scrubbing.

Poor shelf bracket design
The shelf brackets are stamped into the stainless steel sides. The top of the brackets are angled downward which allow the trays to slide and fall.A better design would be to either install flat brackets or stamp the brackets deeper into the metal with a flat top.Because of the poor shelving bracket design and manufacture, this unit is unserviceable and will be returned.

Worth the Price
I was very impressed with the Excalibur food dehydrator. The two zones let me dehydrate different veggies at the same time using different durations and temperatures. The digital display is easy to understand, the trays are durable, and the machine is easy to clean from top to bottom. My only complaint is that this should have come with stainless steel trays for the price instead of plastic.

Treys would fall down on top of each other when installed
I orderd and recieved this dehydrator. It is heavy. I used it for a little while and was very happy with it, however, it has poor workmanship inside. It was damaged prior to shipping... a large dent in the side that did not show from the outside of box. The treys are not all the same size.. and they do not fit securely in the sides of the box. With any weight on them, they fell down on top of the ones below. This was very annoying. Poor workmanship and manufacturing defect. Better supports are necessary. I liked the machine for its performance and the 2 timers. However in the end, I returned it due to the faulty trey setup. Falling trays, because they did not reach correctly from side to side. It was crated well but box was opened and some screws were missing. For the price, they should have done a better job inside the box and the trey supports. I would have kept it if not for that very big inconvience. Every time I tried to put the treys in with anything on them, the treys would fall directly down on to the one below..NOT GOOD>Maybe i just got a lemon, but it was not a good experience, then I had to make a box to send it back as the other box was destroyed in the mean time. Good machine other than that. I am choosing to go cheaper this time around. about a thousand dollars cheaper. 2 stars because of poor workmanship and the inconvience with the treys...not fitting correctly.

Quality & safe materials
We love this machine. Had the old black plastic, and got lost in a move. This one almost makes me happy that happened!I’m impressed. If you are wanting quality and health, this is your machine. We got all of the grapes from one vine in here, and the raisins are so yummy.

Came super fast , shockingly fast
I can’t review the actual product yet as I just received and unboxed it, I will follow up later.I’m missing the "paraflexx sheets”, instructions say be careful they’re the same color as the box. Ummm nope , not there, not at all.
