Great function
Loved this AC unit. Quiet and kept my son’s 120 year old dorm room comfortable! Easy set up, no issues with leaks, and size was as expected. Please just note the weight, it is substantial ( however, it may not be excessively heavy compared to other similar portable air conditioners ). Would recommend!

Cool and easy
Great cooling ability, the remote is nice, air filter is easy to clean. I have been using it for a few months now in my upstairs master bedroom. The room gets A-LOT of sun which heats the house and also is the 4th floor so the heat is rising as well. I have never had to drain it using the cooling mode (might have to for dehumidify) but I thought that was great because I used to have to drain my old one each day. I also appreciate the window pieces that come with it and the foam seal and the instructions. I was able to bring the box inside myself and up the stairs. I did have my husband bring it up the next 2 sets of stairs - just something to keep in mind. I also think the price for the item is great compared to others.

Versatile Portable AC - Even for a Shed!
A portable air conditioner is a free-standing floor unit with wheels that you can move around anywhere. However, you have to make sure there’s a place to run a large corrugated hose (like a dryer duct) to expel the moisture and heat outside. And you will need an electrical outlet nearby to plug it in. We actually got this Dreo portable air conditioner on the spur of the moment because we had an emergency with our home air conditioner going out. We live in the desert with 100+ degree temps for 3 months straight, so cool air is not something you want to live without! We were thinking that we’d need to install a whole new unit, and we didn’t know how long it would take. So, we got this portable ac to tide us over.As it turns out, the ac problem wasn’t as bad as we thought, and we were able to get our home air conditioner working again fairly quickly and going strong enough to last through another season. That being said, what to do with the Dreo? Well, we’d been wanting to buy a backyard shed. The problem with outdoor sheds where we live is that in hot climates, an uninsulated shed will get way too hot. The excessive heat can damage sensitive items - such as wood furniture, electronics, sleeping bags and clothes - even if they’re just sitting there in storage. So you have to make sure it’s well-insulated. We got a small 10x10 shed, added a vapor barrier and insulation, and put the Dreo out there. If you have at least one window in the shed, that's good, or else you’ll have to cut a hole in the wall to let the exhaust hose out. Also, we had to run electricity over to the shed. As for portability, this unit may have wheels and a carry handle, but it’s not super easy to move. It weighs like 60 pounds so it’s not something you’re going to want to roll around from room to room. You can’t do that anyway with the exhaust vent requirement. But I’m glad we found a place to put it. It’s great that it doesn’t take up too much space, with a small footprint of only 14" x 17" and 28" high, but you need about 24" clearance between it and the wall. The good thing about having it in the shed is, in the winter time it’s already in storage! The Dreo uses the newer R-32 refrigerant, also known as difluoromethane, which is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) with low environmental impact and high energy efficiency. The Dreo doesn’t seem to have the cooling capacity of a larger built-in unit, but it’s enough to keep the stuff in the shed from getting wrecked from the high heat. Any ac unit is going to have trouble keeping up when it’s 115 degrees out! So far, the Dreo does a decent job keeping the stuff inside our small storage shed protected. We just leave it alone to do its thing. This unit has a built-in evaporator and doesn't always need to be drained, but the drip pan may get full in times of high humidity, so be sure to check it regularly during monsoon season or run a drain hose.Since it’s a smart ac, we had to download the Dreo app from the app store and set up a Dreo account. Then you add the Dreo to your phone and pair the device just like you connect any other device via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Seems like a lot of trouble to go through, but you only have to do it once. The good thing about the Dreo app is, you can monitor the temperature and humidity, and control the unit from your phone. It can be controlled with the app, a remote, or Alexa. It has different modes and options so you can cool, fan only, or dehumidify. It has removable air filters that can be cleaned and reused. The Dreo comes with an instruction booklet and everything you need to get it set up including exhaust duct and window shields.

UPDATE!! Figured it out!!
This is a powerful AC unit and it cools down the entire front half of my apartment with ease. The problem is, it won’t stay on!! It keeps shutting itself down, constantly. Sometimes it’s on for a few hours, and other times it’s 2 minutes. I had the 14,000 BTU unit first, and thought it was either a faulty unit, or it was pulling too much power. So, I returned it, and got the 12,000 BTU unit instead, and the same exact thing keeps happening. I am beyond frustrated by this, especially because it’s otherwise an amazing portable AC. The best I’ve ever had as far as cooling abilities go. Ughhhhh.UPDATE!!! Welp, I figured out what the problem was.. it’s pulling too much power, so every time my kids would turn on the Xbox, the AC would shut down. Sounds crazy.. I know! After going through all of the trouble of returning one, and getting a new one… we finally realized what was happening. We live in a small apartment, that was built a long time ago, and it just can’t handle the power this thing draws. It is a fabulous AC unit, and it has changed our quality of life.. so, no Xbox when it’s hot out! Hahaha

DOES NOT MAKE ROOM COLD
I bought this to replace a 10 year old 8k BTU Frigidaire window unit. This unit is 12k BTU and bigger in terms of the air flow vents so I expected this to make my room COOLLDD. This thing isn't small or light by any means so setup was tough for one person but acceptable (if the AC did its job). 3 months down the line and this AC has NEVER been close to making the room near as cold as the 10 year old Frigidaire window unit. I am extremely disappointed and will never be purchasing from this brand again. Love the smart features but this unit doesn't make the room colder at all. I think the thermometer inside that turns on the cooling is broken. It seems to think the room is already at 65 degrees but it isn't close. Unfortunately the unit will not actually cool unless the internal thermostat thinks its environment is under the target degrees you set which is trying to be ECO or "smart" but it fails miserably and actually just makes this unit a giant fan which is not its purpose. No matter how I configured the settings the Unit would not cool the room. Steer clear from this brand.
