This stool is very sturdy.I can take this stool with me and adjust the seat height for the job I'm doing.This stool is just what I was looking for.I am very happy with my purchase.

A bit heavier than I was expecting but very sturdy and strong. Adjustable height is great for musicians for a variety of instruments where seat height is critical. Padded seat is not exceptionally comfortable but is adequately comfortable... you may want to add a non-slip, additional seat pad for additional padding and comfort if you are going to be sitting for an extended time. I chose this adjustable height stool specifically for use with a portable digital piano on a portable stand (requires higher seating), bass and guitar (all require different height seating) and I am very satisfied with this stool for that purpose. This stool is a bit heavy and therefore a little less convenient for transport but I would repurchase.

While not specifically designed for this purpose, this chair is terrific for any musician. The height adjusts quickly and easily through a wide range. the seat not angled back, there are no arms, and (if you travel) it is light and folds down to a small, easily stowable size. I use it for wind instruments, but I can easily see string players (especially cellists) and keyboard players loving it also.

Love my chair needed it for my sewing room. Ease for adjusting the seat. And for traveling.

Review based on individual who is 5'3" tall and 97lbs. When the seat is in the lower position, it is very uncomfortable because you slide back and feel like you are falling out the back of the chair.With the seat up - 24 inches high, your back is supported by the back rest and the cushions are soft. The seat slants back somewhat, so your legs are dangling out there with no foot support. The bar at the bottom of the chair is useless as a foot rest. A small foot stool is needed to rest your feet.Chair is very solid and sturdy. Close it, pull up and forward to move the seat. It takes some upper body strength to do this. Not everyone may be able to do it.

Works great in small spaces like my laundry room.

I love this little stool. It's perfect when my legs get tired and I need a little perch.

I like sitting up higher when doing art projects - perfect
