I do different things with graphics, and one of those is working up line graphics on the computer and then transferring them for use with other media. I've been using all sorts of workarounds, usually coloring the back side of a printout with pencil and tracing the print side with pen. No longer!I had seen lower-priced and comparably-priced tracing surfaces that were not adjustable, and similar adjustable ones that were more expensive and a bit beyond my budget. THEN, this one popped up in a recent "Amazon Deals" listing, and it had good reviews and looked exactly like the type I'd hoped to get, so I jumped on it, and I'm glad I did.This widget is unbelievably lightweight, especially remembering how cumbersome and *hot* lightboxes were "back in the old days". The principle of this tracer isn't complex in itself, but the nice part of this item is that the *design* and the *function* - basically, the way the principle is applied - is very good; the "small details" add up to improve the function. The black border keeps too much "stray" light from causing distraction at the edges of your work; the ruler is convenient; the sliding light-adjustment works pretty well and is done so that the surface remains smooth, no buttons to get caught on anything, while letting the light level be adjusted to suit the work - less light for tracing with thin paper, brighter for tracing with heavier paper.Regarding the power source, it does not come with an adapter because it's designed to plug into the computer's USB port. I personally prefer to run things off of their own separate USB wall chargers rather than plugging them into the laptop's USB port so that the connections don't get loose and "wiggly" from being plugged and unplugged over and over, plus I prefer to use one that is capable of providing at least 2 Amps just to ensure that the equipment I'm running can get all the power it needs to avoid any flickering or interruptions or whatnot. I personally reserve the laptop's USB ports for removable drives that need to communicate with the computer. ANYWAY, I mention all of that only because there was a question or two regarding whether an adapter was included.

Back in the day I used a device like this to sort through 35mm slides, we called it a "light box," lol. This is a tremendous piece of tech, although extremely simple. I find the brightness very good, size good enough, and I already had a power pack so connecting to it was easy. It's great (and inexpensive).

It’s lightweight and thin so it doesn’t interfere with whatever canvases I am working on. It has different light settings so you can adjust to just the right brightness for each piece you are working with.It is a bit difficult to keep the keep the short cord plugged in all of the time and you do have to sit near an outlet or work on top of your computer which is a drag.

Everything seems to be in order. It turns on; the brightness is adjustable and bright enough to get through thicker paper. However, I could have been more impressed with the flimsy USB cable or the receptacle it plugs into, but time will tell. Good buy for the money.

This lightpad is awsome. Love the brightness/dimming aspect. You can raise or lower the light level to the perfect degree desired by pressing and holding the power button. Large surface acommidates every size I would need for my woodburning projects. It's also a lot sturdier than I would expect given it's light weight. Good quality backing and also has nonslip cornerpads. What's not to like?

I bought this because I had to make some things for my family reunion and I was using HTV vinyl in white. Weeding white vinyl can be a task sometimes. I bought this and laid the vinyl on top and I was able to weed my project perfectly!!! Those small intricate pieces that I would normally struggle to see became a breeze.

The size and functionality is great, I personally would have liked something brighter, but for normal purposes it works well.The power button is also the same button that changes the lighting, so unless you don't touch the entire thing while you're working, you're bound to unintentionally swipe it off/change the lighting level, which is extremely annoying.The shape of the power cord is specially designed for this product, because the mirco USB port is like 1/3 in inside the edge, so if you want a longer cord that the tiny cord provided, it breaks or you loose it, good luck.It's also really flimsy, which is understandable considering how thin it is. One one hand, it fits easily in most places, but it could break by dropping or a slight bend. The bottom is likena big paper sticker so it's very not water proof, and likely to peel really easily.Mine stopped working only after a few uses, I had a replacement cord and that didn't even work, and since I was out of return range already I broke the corner to check the wiring. The internal wiring is super poorly made with exposed wire edges and improperly wrapped edges and everything. So if you spill any liquid around this it's bound to destroy it.The front part also stains, really badly, even with regular mechanical pencil lead, and scratches really easily, which is super super super not great for a light pad. I tried cleaning it with alcohol swabs and it smeared.It does have little feet pads that kinda make it sorta non slip so there's that.If you're wanting this for a child or small simple designs, just to try, or as a temporary thing , and you don't plan on storing it or touching it or using it it's great. It does do what it advertises, but just not well. I give 3 stars cause I got what I ordered and it mostly functioned as intended.If you're wanting this as a professional tool that isn't flimsy, brightly illuminates, and doesn't stop working randomly, and intent on using it for long term use then I'd avoid this.

I found this to be a very nice, high quality light board. I found no real instructions in the box, I thought it was a rechargeable board, when I realized it wasn't I returned it. it was inconvenient for me to plug this in where I would be working on diamond painting. Many have ordered these items for diamond painting. It was very well packaged so no damage would happen to it in shipping, also shipped in a box. I highly recommend this. I dropped this off at the post office this afternoon and have already received a refund. Great customer service!

Use it a lot for weeding out my Cricut projects .. makes life easier
