I added Lemon Verbena to my herb garden for the first time this year and absolutely fell in love with making Lemon Verbena tea! As we're moving into the winter season, I have brought my plant indoors and hoping to keep it going until spring but my consumption rate has quickly outpaced the volume I've been able to harvest from my own plant. This product is very good, the physical qualities of the leaves you get are that they are whole leaves, there is some amount of bare stems which I suppose is to be expected from a product that is no doubt mechanically processed to some extent, but you can tell it is very minimally processed really - this product arrived looking pretty much just like when I harvest and dry my own leaves. This plant has a lot of tough stems which are very difficult to entirely separate from the leafy parts and that is just part of the plant which I've come to accept in dealing with my home grown leaves. Since I use it primarily for tea anyway it really doesn't matter that there are stems in it, it's not like I'm going to be eating them. I did some extent of my own processing once I received this product, trying to remove the largest stems that I could and crush the leaves somewhat in my mortar and pestle. The scent of the leaves is wonderfully lemony, as you would expect. The leaves are not quite as "green" as home grown and harvested; but I guess that is to be expected in any commercially purchased herbs, they will never be as fresh as from your own garden. There were a few very brown leaves in the batch, which also happens with home grown, just pick them out. Brews a nice looking tea, and the taste I have to admit is a little milder than using more fresh herbs; but still has a nice lemony flavor that doesn't require any sweetener and has a mild astringent aftertaste.
