Q: Can this be used for sharpening straight razors?

Thanks for checking in on that. This system wouldn't be able to get down to a low enough angle for most straight razors. If you are looking at guided systems the Edge Pro and Wicked Edge systems will do straight razors. You can also do them on bench stones. Yes and it won't effect the sharpening. You can hold it in your hand if the wobble bothers you. I have done at least a hundred sharpenings on mine with outstanding results.
