Easy to use - I mix a packet of powder in a milk gallon jug and pour part of the liquid into a spray bottle and store the rest. Each packet makes a gallon. Unlike Ortho Nutsedge Killer, it takes several weeks before the nutsedge actually turns brown and dies, but more importantly the nutsedge won't spread; Ortho kills the nutsedge in 2 or 3 days. Atticus Empero uses a different pesticide - halosulfuron (the same as used in Sedgehammer) - vs sulfentrazone used in Ortho. Both are effective but Ortho costs more. Update: This season I made the mistake of overwatering my lawn and the nutsedge came back. I now just pour the solution from my milk bottle directly on where I see the nutsedge. They turn brown in a few days, much quicker than by spraying. For a large area, I just douse the whole area. This doesn't harm the grass and keeps them from spreading. This method is not too costly and is effective. Also: Mature nutsedge takes longer to die; be patient.

Haven’t used it yet but I know it works well after being recommended by a professional lawn service provider. Has high speed weed death, and the concentration effect saves space for storage. Great quality. Highly recommended.

Each packet makes 1 gallon and should be used in its entirety, not stored in a sprayer. It seems to be working, although slower than I’d like. The attachment shows nutsedge yellowing. The first application was about two weeks ago and the second application was about a week ago.

After years of trying other methods, I'm pleased that Empero killed treated nutsedge plants. Like its label and other users' experiences say, it took a week or so to patiently see nutsedge start to turn yellow after application. The lag time is worth it. Also expect that seeds/nuts aren't affected and may sprout. Another proper Empero application kills them. Bottom line, my lawn looks much better now since it's not overwhelmed by nutsedge.

I've been fighting nut sedge for about 65 years (79 yo, first paid job was golf course maintenance). The dang stuff is almost impossible to get rid of. I will admit that I have only used this for spot application in shrubbery beds, but it works. Spray directly on the green blades and wait for them to shrivel - then you can pull up the "nut". It takes days or even a week or two in some weather (don't use in high wind conditions), but it works. The directions say to avoid contact with skin and don't breathe the spray - all I can say is that I take that seriously about all herbicides and advise you to do the same. I've never had a problem, but I know people who have used a lot of various herbicides (not this specific one) and suffered later.
