Probably the best Hasbro Star Wars vehicle yet
I have to admit that I was a little concerned because the description of this listing doesn't match exactly even though the photos do. (Edit: They changed the description to match!) This is for the Hasbro Star Wars Force Link 2.0 TIE Fighter, and it's undoubtedly up for discussion as the best Hasbro Star Wars toy vehicle. The paint job is amazing, it would fit in on any collector's shelf. The proportions of wings-to-cockpit to the original screen model are probably not entirely accurate but this is a nice compromise - the original Kenner toy looked way off because the wings were too small, and building it to the 'actual' proportions seen in the Revell model kits would probably dwarf anything else in the 3.75" line of toys. The projectiles for the blasters have a nice setup, they nestle nicely into the toy, and by pressing buttons on the bottom of the ship they fire and have a green translucent 'tail'. The buttons are a little touchy; every time I pick up the toy I'm concerned I'm going to lose the projectiles by unexpectedly launching them across the room if I even graze the buttons. I don't yet own a ForceLink band so I can't speak to the sound effects setup. An unexpected but cool feature is the 'battle damage' function, where pressing a button on the top of the left wing strut detaches part of the ship in a way that makes it look like it's been split in half. It's surprising that the ship comes apart so dramatically yet when it's put together you can barely notice the separation lines. The TIE Pilot that comes with is the standard 5-point-of-articulation that the rest of the ForceLink line of figures has. He fits into the ship snugly, although the pilot controls at the front of the cockpit are clearly not able to be held by the pilot.Overall there's very little to complain about. It'd be nice if it had its own electronics but that would defeat the need to get a ForceLink band, which is the point of the whole toy line. The cockpit hatch doesn't have see through window 'strips' as seen in the movies; they're instead painted black, undoubtedly as a cost-saving measure. But on the whole those minor things are not worth docking a star off of the rating. It's a fantastic piece that looks much more like a collectible than your standard store-bought toy.Hasbro's had more than its share of misses when it comes to Star Wars vehicles but they've really outdone themselves this time. Let's hope that they release a new X-Wing with as much quality as this one. And then maybe re-release the Falcon Legacy, and perhaps a version of the AT-AT that uses the same impressive walking electronics as the AT-ACT. Can't wait!

Best Tie ever.
This "feels" like the right size. The vintage collection is technically more screen accurate, but it just seems awkward and unstable in hand. The wings don't break apart on this fighter which makes it sturdy Plus, the price on this ship is far more reasonable.

Awesome Tie Fighter toy that features a cool break apart feature.
I bought this for my 4 year old son and he loves it. I have to admit the Tie fighter is nicely detailed and big. The best part is that it breaks apart at a press of a button. And it works good and the break apart seam is not that noticable. When I play with my son I pretend the space craft is coming at him. He then pretends to shot it and I press the button and the Tie Fighter breaks apart as if my son actually shot it down. He flips out every time with joy.

Fantastic Swooshability!
It's a very nice TiE Fighter. I'm not sure why they have to make these where they simulate blowing up but this one seems to have a "sturdier" method of doing so. The wings don't pop off the same as the other styles but that is a good thing, my larger Vintage collection TiE Fighters have all had the mechanism that holds the wings on break just by sitting on the shelf. the swooshability of this smaller version is fantastic. As long as you don't press the blow up button you can actually spin the fighter and make TiE fighter noises without fear of the wings falling off accidentally. All the other TiE versions have the blow up buttons right around where you naturally hold it so they get pressed too easily. This one is harder to accidentally press. The black sections of the wings are hard plastic while the grey support sections are either made of some kind of rubber or encased in it. time will tell how that holds up.

If you are considering buying one... go ahead and buy 2!
This Tie fighter was on sale. I had one as a kid in the 80s. I gambled and bought 2 at 30$ a piece. Well worth the price! Man, do I love this space ship so much. The detail is insane and it looks fantastic. I wish more 3.75 figures and vehicles were prices accordingly. If you are considering buying one... go ahead and buy 2! They are big for 3.75, but not so big that you wont have to worry about room. I would say they are the perfect size.

Grandson loved this toy
I purchased this toy for my grandson for Christmas 23. His eyes lit up with joy as he opened up a Star Wars official toy. The size was a bit larger than the usual toys. He played with bringing back memories of myself when I got my first Star Wars toy! He was so amazed by the sheer size of the toy and said it was the best gift ever, coming from a seven-year-old

Great toy
I've been looking for a Tie Fighter but they were way too expensive. At 35 bucks, this was perfect.

Best priced Tie fighter
This is the lowest priced TIE Fighter we could find. Well worth what we paid at $47. Cannot imagine what the other TIEs have that this doesn't. The shooting projectiles are done in a classy, seamless way that will make the kids happy and not upset the collector.
