Excellent Quality and Stability – Perfect for Shooting Practice!
The Caldwell DeadShot Filled Rear Shooting Bag is a fantastic addition to my shooting gear. The bag is pre-filled, which saves time and hassle, and its durable construction is immediately noticeable. The material feels sturdy and robust, and it holds up well to regular use. The water-resistant feature is a great bonus, especially if you’re shooting outdoors in various weather conditions. I use it for additional stability when shooting from a prone or sitting position, and it really helps improve accuracy. The bag provides a solid and consistent rest for my rifle, ensuring better control during longer shooting sessions. What I really appreciate about the Caldwell DeadShot bag is its versatility and convenience. It’s compact yet provides a lot of support for both long-range and precision shooting. The construction is top-notch, and it offers excellent value for the price. It holds its shape well, even after multiple uses, and it’s easy to adjust depending on your shooting position. Whether you’re a competitive shooter, hunter, or just practicing at the range, this rear bag enhances your shooting stability. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to improve their shooting performance and add some extra support to their setup!

Highly functional rest great for sighting in!
I love this rest. It has become my primary rest. I cracked a stock on my.375 Ruger using a sled that has a solid but plate. I now use, and prefer, the Tack Driver with a Caldwell butstock support. The ears really hold the forstock nicely. It’s also a lot more versatile and transportable than a sled. Well worth the money in my opinion.

Decent rear shooting bag.
Took this out to the range to test it out. If you've never used a rear shooting bag for precision shooting, it takes some getting use to. It works as advertised, but you may need to remove some of the filler. When I first got it, the bag was overstuffed. I believe the factory does this by default, allowing the user to remove the excess to his/her liking. I removed just enough filler so that the bottom of the shooting bag sits just about flat. Just take care to remove the filler a little at a time till you get it to where you want it, then you should be good to go.

Good Bag - needs "Tuning"
This rear bag has very good construction, of canvas-like nylon, with enough weight to be steady, but not so heavy as to be a burden to carry. No visual "straining" or weaknesses in stitching, or leakage of filler material, which appears to be ground corncob. Held the toe of my rifle stock securely and allowed small elevation adjustments by squeezing. My bag appeared to be "over-stuffed" with filler, very rigid, and had a rounded bottom, making it wobbly. Removing a little filler flattened it out, and easier to squeeze. A good improvement would be to have a suede leather or rubber bottom, to help flatten it out, and prevent any slippage on a bench, as well as protecting from abrasion. If I ever need another bag, I would get another, and recommend this to others.

Nice complement to the larger forearm rest bag
I've had the bigger Caldwell forearm rest bag for a while. Like it, no complaints. I was just using a homemade sandbag for a rear rest, but it didn't allow me to do vertical adjustments very easily. I'd have to manipulate the rear sandbag every time to get it higher/lower. This little bag allows the grip to rest in the V and by moving the little bag fwd/aft you can pretty simply raise lower the angle of the rifle. Plus it has a clip that attaches to the D-rings on the larger bag so you can carry them around together when transporting. It's probably a little pricey for what it is, not a great value for your money, but it is useful.

Practical and useful dimensions.
It's a decent light weight shooting bag. More than one way to use it, the rectangle base gives multiple height options if you tilt it on it's side. Some of the reviews mentiond the fill couldn't be changed, but mine came with a velcro access flap to replace the fill.

Like it's big brother really useful... arrived filled and ready to use. They are sold separately but logically they should be together as standard.... just my opinion... but happy customer

Tl;dr - great rear rest for sighting/long range shooting, would recommend. I'm happy with the quality and durability of this shooting rest. I used this multiple times now at both the range and out on the mountains. Me and my buddy's have tossed this thing like a football and even had it hit the ground by mistake after a huge toss - it didn't even get a scuff or break open, nothing. It's pretty heavy for such a little bag so I wouldn't take it on a hunting trip that requires camp gear personally(may as well carry a huge stone), a shooting stick which is 1/12th the weight is better IMO. If you want a good steady bag for long range/sighting though this is perfect and definitely suits my needs - I'm no professional by far but I can hold my rifle near steady for constant 2-4" group shots out to 240 yards with most ammo at my local range when I use this. I'm certainly pleased with that !
