Easy!
I’ve made a couple vases & drinking glasses using this cutter & kombucha bottles. I haven’t tried the square cutting option yet, but I’m very happy with this bottle cutter. YouTube has some great videos on how to separate the pieces after scoring & how to sand your cuts to make them smooth & not sharp.

Excellent DIY tool, but you need to develop some technique for good results.
I first tried the round bottles only version and was able to trim an 8 inch cylindrical candle holder to a height of a bit over 6 inches. I then saw that there was a version that also handled square bottles and got that (returned the first one--the company was very nice about it and email customer service was very good). So far, I've only tried trimming one square jar with this second version (Kensington mayonnaise), which is harder to do than the cylindrical bottles. The gadget works really well, but you do need to develop some finesse/technique: the amount of pressure, the angle of the blade, how many times you alternate hot and cold water (depends in part on thickness of the glass, I think). I still get vertical or oblique cracks that go below the line I am aiming for (these manifest during the hot water application--you can't see them ahead of time), so I try to be flexible with the height I want and to have several of the same bottle, so I can fine tune the technique. The metal frame on this second glass cutter is slightly warped, so the rollers don't sit horizontally ; they're slightly dipped, maybe 5 degrees or so. I don't think this is affecting the performance, and hopefully I will be able to straighten the frame eventually, but I didn't notice that in the first gadget. In short, a great DIY tool. However, if you have a treasured piece of glass that you want to modify, I would probably take it to a professional. Just don't take it to a glass windows and doors person--they only have rotary saws that decimate the glass (speaking from sad experience).Wanted to add that, after a few more uses, the metal frame warping has straightened itself out.

Bottle cutter
I liked it with 1 exception. I am trying to cut the bottom of the bottles off not just the top or a little past the neck. I’m still trying to figure it out

Exactly as advertised
Worked first time. I do something different that others may want to try. I used a can of compressed air held upside down. I freeze the scored line in seconds and put it under the tap of hot water. Didn't have to boil water or have to things of water to dip in. Took my only 15 seconds to separate glass.

poor quality
simple device with good packaging and directions. Materials used are cheap and flimsy. the body is extremely thin metal what warps easily and the blade does not stay in place to score the glass consistently causing cracks to form perpetuating away from the location that was scored. many times this caused the glass to shatter when attempting to break using the quench method they recommend with this product.then the design of this product needs improvement as the rubber quark for holding the bottle neck in place is not adjustable enough to hold the bottle parallel when attempting to score. furthermore the adjustable base which slides closer and further from the blades does not allow for a cut within 2" from the bottom of the bottle causing you to lose a lot of glass from the start.

Fun to craft with
I'm using whiskey bottles as a cookie jar and as a vase...this tool helped out a great deal.Description, accessories, photograph, website presentation, and what arrived are the same-size, shape, color, and it matched my expectations. The product(s) arrived on time, as described by seller & manufacturer, it was shipped without issue, arrived within prescribed estimates, the packaging was undamaged, and the product itself was unmolested and made with quality materials

Nice cutter with lots of features.
The set up is a little tedious to learn in the beginning. But the fixture is made to cut different types of bottles so there are extra adjustments for all of that. The instructions are definitely a translation and require some thinking when you read through it to make sense. The cutter does work very well.Definitely practice on several bottles before trying to cut something you expect to be perfect. Emptying extra bottles is not a bad thing to have to do!
