Is this hose compatible with Festool vacuums?

It fits Festool perfectly. The vac end is an exact match to the Fest fitting. It comes with a tool end that exactly matches Fest's 27mm end. It fits over the sanders, Domino"s ect dust port. It fits in the larger ports of the saws. I took a tool end Festool fitting off of a Fest 36mm hose. It attached perfectly, making this a perfect, and much cheaper substitute for a Fest 36mm hose. So long as you dont need anti static of course.

Is this hose compatible with Rigid brand wet/dry 12 gal, 5 Hp vacuums?

The best answer I can give you is... "possibly'. The larger end is close to the same size as the Ridgid vac hoses. It does NOT have the same type of end as the Ridgid hoses. Therefore, it won't lock into the Ridgid vac. Will it stay in the vac? "Possibly" The other end is much smaller and will not fit the Ridgid vac tools that come with the 5 HP model. I use it to connect to a Porter cable random orbital sander. THAT connection also is only close. A bit of high strength duct tape helps here.Hope this helps.

Will this fit the standard ShopVac port?

Bigger end will fit into the standard 2 1/2" port.

Is there way to make this hose shorter? Can it be cut to become shorter? Thanks

If there is I don't know about it. The ends are fused to the hose itself and would likely have to be cut from the hose thereby probably ruining the whole thing.
