Q: Why doesn't it have any dha in it?

Hi angelwings. Vegepa (and our Pharmepa RESTORE product) contain pure EPA because they are designed to raise EPA levels rapidly and manage inflammation. Pure EPA can be suitable in certain cases for the initial phase of supplementation. We do believe a combination of EPA and DHA is suitable long term - our products Pharmepa MAINTAIN, MindCare and Pure Essentials offer EPA and DHA in combination, but with a high EPA to DHA ratio. Our pure EPA fish oil is from sustainably sourced Peruvian anchovies (from the Pacific Ocean) from a Friend of the Sea (FOS) certified supplier. The benefits of using anchovies are that, unlike many other fish species, not only are they low in the food chain (meaning they are naturally low in contaminants), but they are also naturally high in EPA. Q: I won't eat halal or kosher foods for reasons of animal cruelty - can you specify the relevant standing of this product please?

Hello secret. Halal and kosher requirements relate to specific methods of killing (meat), certain ingredients used and cover by-products like gelatine; where seafood is involved, rules relating to certain shellfish apply and also specific species of fish. Vegepa, like most of our other supplements, is produced from fish; none are produced from animals or their by-products. Rules according to halal and kosher are not strictly relevant to our products because of the above, and gelatine, where used, is derived from fish. This means that phrases like 'halal and kosher' may be used not because of adherence to such rules, but because they do not, strictly, apply to our products, meaning there is no conflict (other than issues relating to gelatine, as covered above) for those who do look for products adhering to such principles. Q: Is this product molecularly distilled?

Yes, Vegepa and in fact all of our fish oils undergo molecular distillation - this not only removes the impurities from the oils to virtually undetectable levels but also allows us to concentrate the active ingredients. In this case, the fish oil fraction of Vegepa is concentrated to provide 70% EPA (280 mg EPA out of 400 mg fish oil).
