Peanut squares
Taste a little old but still good

Terrible!
These are terrible! They are nothing like the double dipped chocolate covered peanuts I ordered from the company at Christmas. Those were a smooth creamy chocolate covering. These have a hard chocolate coating that’s pretty much tasteless. A waste of $34!!

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Covered Peanuts!
These really are the very best chocolate covered peanuts you can buy. Just before writing this I noticed a review that these are “waxy chocolate” peanuts like the cheap variety one normally finds. They must have been mistaken because these are the opposite of what they wrote. Real high quality chocolate melts more quickly in your hands (or fingers) and these do just that. I found out the following from a gentleman who owns a number of chocolate retail stores and manufactures his own chocolate: High quality milk chocolate has a low melting point. You’ll know true high quality chocolate by the facts it melts quickly in your hand or fingers (plus there’s the great taste of course). Most cheap chocolates are made for customers who want to hold a handful of chocolate items and not get their hands messy. Thus cheaper chocolate will in fact contain ingredients to keep it from melting that make it look and feel “waxy” and also to reduce the amount of real chocolate (which is expensive) to save money. Also note that Virginia Diner makes these in smaller batches which is indicative of a craftsman-type care. The downside is that they’re not always available. One more thing: Because of the lower melting point, keep that in mind when ordering during the hot summer months. It’s possible that this package may get too warm in a hot truck or car. Stuff happens so don’t go off crazy on your delivery person if it does.

Clumped brittle
The peanut brittle was clumped and very difficult to break apart without a hammer. I won't order it again. But I really love the lightly salted Virginia peanuts.
