So far so good!
I use two of these for plays and musicals. I have used them probably 10 times with no issues. Nice and bright easy dmx control saves me time. Stands could be taller.

Powerful, lightweight, great throw at long distances, nice features. Recommended.
Great followspot. I purchased a pair, which came at separate dates. Well, and slightly, over packaged. With everything un-packed there were four boxes(for one spotlight) lying around when I finished un-packing it. Some styrofoam, wrapping paper, plastic wrapping, and tape. The lights are very lightweight themselves, and very mobile. They have useful handles to carry and I would state that most people can hold them without much strain. They seem smaller than expected, but still emit quite a punch for the size. When testing them in a large hall at a throw of roughly between 60 to 75 feet, and 16 feet above ground level on a balcony, they out-performed my expectations and doubts immediately. When the shutter is opened fully, it covered a majority of the stage, and the only mechanical downfall, or con, of this light is the lack of the ability to close the shutter fully. However, the dimming feature or black-out button feature is useful for either lengthy or abrupt blackouts. The color options were decent, but I felt that if one wanted to add different colors, a gel would been needed to attain the "look" one wanted by taping it to the front of the fixture. If the led bulb had been an RGBA or RGBAW, the color options would be far more flexible and user friendly. The price, in comparison to the feel of the unit, may seem slightly high, but the advantages outweigh the lack of these features altogether. The unit is near silent aside from a small fan noise that varies in speed when the light is at 100%; and an obscure, but barely noticeable high pitched whine(likely a ballast or similar) that is only audible to sensitive ears really. Both of which seem to vanish under a standard conversation taking place. All-in-all, it works very well for nearly anything you can throw at it. I was slightly skeptical of its power for Theatre productions and large venues, but was surprised when it worked better than I hoped it would. Chauvet did a really decent job with this followspot. I hope they incorporate more color options in the future and retain the price for average consumers who need a good light. Recommended highly. Thanks.

Nice spot with just a couple of iffy issues...
Purchased this follow-spot for our church community theater group. After reading all the reviews, was a bit concerned on the couple of comments on fan noise and a high pitched noise from the light. After receipt I set it up and tested the light for about a half an hour. With the light full on you do get a bit of fan noise, but I don't think it is overly loud, even in a church environment. I have not noticed any type of high pitched noise at all as of yet. We plan on using the new light for our upcoming original musical this spring, so I will update after we get some rehearsal time using the spot. Just a couple of things that made me drop this light from 5 stars to 4 stars that I felt were the negatives in a otherwise excellent light.1. You can not close the Iris completely on this light. This may or may not be a issue in your particular situation however for live theater this would have been a huge plus. As it is, you will have to do a fade with the fade button on the light to achieve the effect. I knew this going in and decided the positives of the light outweighed this but wish it had the capability.2. The color wheel rotates through the colors you choose. Again, may or may not be a issue depending on your use. If you are doing multiple color changes in a scene, then you need to plan out your color choices if you need those to smoothly change from say blue to yellow. The color wheel will spin quickly between the other colors to get to the color you are requesting before displaying the color you have chosen unless that color is "next" to the original color being displayed.3. The focusing slides on the side of the light are very difficult to operate if needed to adjust in mid scene. If you don't need to adjust these in mid-show then this is not an issue, however be aware that these controls are not machined very well within the light housing and simply do not smoothly operate. This in my opinion is the most negative part of the light, and something I think could be easily remedied by the good folks at Chauvet. All this said, this is still a very good follow-spot which is very bright and easy to set up and use. Being able to simply plug it in to a standard 110 outlet and operate without the issue of power draw or heat is a huge plus for smaller theater locations. Will update again after we get through our first show using the light.

A Fallow Spot for DJ's.
This is a fantastic Light. It is very easy to use, It throws the light a long distance, and being that it is LED, it takes very little power away from the overall 15 Amp plug that I used to have the Spot light, Sound System and Dance floor lighting "Also LED" all plugged into the one household standard plug. The Ability to focus, Fade, Change Color, and Blackout is right at you fingertips. The Chauvet DJ FollowSpot is also much lighter than the Old Fashion Follow Spot with the incandescent bulb. I am very happy with this product.DJ JMYO

This spot is spot on. I use this light when recording bands to HD video and it really adds to the show. It's easy to follow those musicals that like roaming from the stage to the crowd. You do have to keep in up in the air though. If a person looks straight at this light or too long I believe this thing would fry a persons iris so keep close to the dimmer control. Not a bad problem to have! The packaging was great and it arrived ahead of the estimated shipping date. Well worth the money.

Awesome, Bright and Wonderful!
We used at our Mardi Gras Ball for the coronation of out king and queen. Without a doubt. The follow light lite up the stage, dance floor. Coronation and the King and Queen. The rhinestones and sequins on their royal regalia popped when the light hit them. The light was between 40-100’ away and worked AWESOME!
