Works great as a pre-emergent
I’ve been using Prodiamine as my spring pre-emergent and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Applied at the recommended rate and watered it in properly, and I’ve seen a big reduction in crabgrass and other weeds compared to previous years. The WDG formula mixes well in a sprayer and doesn’t leave residue if you agitate it properly. A little goes a long way, so this 5 lb container should last quite a while for residential use. Just make sure to apply before soil temps consistently hit the mid-50s and follow label instructions closely. Overall, very effective and cost-efficient for lawn maintenance.

Pre-Emergent Weed Control that is Effective
Very effective when used as a pre-emergent weed treatment. I apply in late January or February before a rain or snow event. I use this all over my decomposed granite back yard, You can apply several days before rain or snow arrives. The rain or snow melts into over the applied surface and helps the Prodiamine to penetrate several inches into the soil below. I live in Nevada where lots of sun and wind produces weeds that grow quickly from April through October. I used to spend hours digging weeds out of the decomposed granite. Roots would often grow 6" deep which made extraction difficult. The 5-pound powdered concentrate will probably last me 20 years.

No Weeds
I've tried granular pre-emergents for a few years and had poor results, first year using this and kept my grass weed-free, and started using it every 90 days. I try to keep an active barrier of pre-emergent through the season rather than spray any post emergents. I see no reason to try any other products at this point, this works exactly like expected.

Effective and Economical
Seems to do a good job of preventing crabgrass. I found that if you mix it in a 5 gallon bucket and spray with a hose and electric pump, it is quick and easy. This is by far the most economical way to apply pre-emergent, only costs a few dollars per application and the jug of granules will last many years
