My parents were raised in the area this happened and I visited many times growing up... And still do a few times a year... Very well written and I would recommend if you like history and/or mysteries...

Written mostly about Spanish gold that was mined in the 1500's or so ( no one really knows) and buried or maybe a number of other sources, buried, and has been searched for ever since.Secret maps in Spanish, Diggings, All focused around small Texas towns within a few miles of the Salt Fork of the Red River as well as in the immediate vicinity of the river itself. Steve outdid himself on this one and you will think so also should you be able to buy a copy - since they are in short supply....

I really enjoyed the book! There are a lot of details mentioned, but also some are missing. That's part of the treasure hunt. If everything was known, then the treasure would have been found. Or, maybe it was and they kept it quiet. It makes you wonder.

Well written account of the mystery of the spider rock treasure. As a life-long Texan this fascinating story, bolstered by photos, hits close to home.

Excellent information source. I grew up in the areas mentioned in the book, so this was of particular interest to me. When I was growing up, my friends and I thought we would surely find this treasure. I have my own copy of this book, and I've purchased two additional copies for friends.
