Gold 335-1086 (88877296) Alternator

Like others mentioned, this new alternator does NOT have the raised “Delco” casting. It’s just how things are anymore. Most everything I buy, minus belts, seem to be made wherever anymore. So I don’t know how you guarantee build quality. Having said all that…here’s what I know. Local part houses have house brand reman alternators for $40-110 MORE than this NEW alternator. No core charge online. Local parts ranged in country of origin vary too….even within the same brand! So I bet on new AC Delco. Figure it’s a crap shoot so why not save some cash on a “traditionally solid” brand instead of reman house brand. Worked right away. No noises, 14.4 volts. I am satisfied with this purchase. No comment on longevity…my 2003 Suburban 5.3 got 201,000 out of the original Delco!!! I love my truck. If this gives me trouble I’ll update my post. Just really don’t like house brand remanufacturing Hope this helps others out. I don’t see parts suppliers improving…so this is my logic for keeping my truck on the road.. Pics of new one, pics of old one. For perfectly. Never grind ears down. Tap the spacers towards the front of the truck once you pry old alt out. Then new alt slips in easy. Tightening the two bolts will bring spacers back tight against alt. It’s a great system! Chevy built great drivelines in 2000-2006.

Really nice looking alternator, very simple install. functional & good voltage power, worth the value. Kepps battery charged very well. Fits perfect on any Chevy with a 105amp alternator. ----2003 Silverado 1500 4x4, 5.3 LS---- 1 - Pop open beer... 2- remove air filter 3- loosen the belt ( belt tensioner ) ( 15mm ) 4- remove the 2 screws through the front ( 15mm ) 5- might need to use crowbar to lift out old alternator / put in new one 6- unplug the 2 plugs in back 7- replace with new alternator ( might need some massaging to put in ) 8- do step 6 -through 1 to finish install

This was a perfect fit for my 2002 Suburban. Took about 45 minutes from start to finish, and worked perfectly. This was one of the best priced options so I'm glad we choose this one from a long list of options. If it lasts half as long as the original one did, I'll call it a great value.

Good value for the money! I called around my local auto parts stores and they want $450 for the same exact part and it was remanufactured. This one is brand new. So it was a no-brainer to buy this instead of getting one from a local auto parts store and paying three times the price for it! Installation was very easy. You have to pry the original one out of the bracket with a small crowbar and then knock those bushings at the front of the bracket as far forward as you can so that the new one drops in easily or you will have one hell of a time getting it in there. It takes a few seconds to do that versus who knows how long doing it the hard way. Seems to be charging properly. I’m getting 14.6 to 14.7 on my multimeter at the alternator now. My original one lasted 162,750 miles but it was not charging properly and was looking like it was getting burned up. So it was time to put a new one on. Mine was the 105 A and that’s exactly what this replacement one is. When it comes to electrical parts I will not consider anything else other than AC/Delco parts for my GM truck. This went on my 2003 Silverado Z71 extended cab that I have owned since it was brand new. I will see how well it does over time and if I need to will update later.

I don't believe this is an actual AC Delco alternator. I believe it is a Counterfeit AC Delco Alternator. It worked good for a few months and then it it's not charging very well. It does on me at the stop lights. I have to keep it reved up to stay running. I put on the alternator tester on and it says it's good, NOT!

Fit right in, especially for a 2003 model that still had the original one.

For the price, you really can't beat this. I bought this for my '03 Chevy Silverado 2500HD w/ 6L (LQ4), which it fit as expected. Removal/install took me about 15 minutes, not including replacing the pulley (see below). Pros: Seems well built. Brand new-not a poorly re-manufactured unit like most other units at and above this price. Easily installed on the LQ4's accessory drive. Cons: Pulley was damaged upon arrival (one of the ridges was nicked, and unfortunately there was a slight bulge into one of the grooves, which would likely damage the serpentine belt) . Not wanting to go several more days without a working alternator, I decided to swap the pulley from my old alternator onto this unit instead of returning it. Given the price, I really can't complain too much on this issue. Alternator is assembled in Mexico. That's better than Made in China, but made in USA is always preferred if possible! Other thoughts: For those of you replacing one of these on the GM 6.0L truck engine, the following may prove helpful: You will likely need to pry the old one out. Just stick a prybar under the old alternator and pry it upward. (after removing the serpentine belt, of course!) Once you've worked it out, I found that it's easier to get the new one in if you take a hammer and gently work the little sleeves in the front holes of the mount towards the front of the truck (you just need a millimeter or so of movement. They'll snug back up to their original position when you install the new alternator). If you don't push these forward, the new alternator can be very hard to reinstall. (Of course, I'm not responsible if you break the mount or damage anything else while doing this!) Hopefully this helps someone.

As expected from ACDelco, this is a well made unit that fit exactly as a GMC replacement part. The wiring receptacle / connector was also an exact fit that meant it only had to be plugged into this new unit. The issue during removal of the original unit was that the two long bolts that hold the alternator in place had corroded on the far end hidden tips and they did not want to pull through the body of the alternator / engine mount. Spinning those bolts with a air gun for a minute removed the crud that was blocking their removal and they came out then with only using my fingers. As the engine mount tends to be very tight, it took some effort to spread its arms and slide and tap the alternator fully into place. Don't file it down as is suggested on websites. There were not any issues relating to the manufacture or sizing of the replacement alternator. I recommend this alternator.

2001 Silverado, 5.3L. Fits perfect, quiet, and puts out 14.5 Volts. Driven with it about 200 miles, works like the original did. Good buy! 5/28/2023 - Update - Well I though the alternator was great, seems about a week ago whenever using signals, windows, brakes, almost any electical accessory, my voltmeter now bounces up and down in my guage cluster. I have load tested the battery, and checked voltage, which is bouncing up and down a few volts. I have check all grounds and bulbs, which are all good. Never had this with any other alternator. HMMMM maybe I should have bought at the local parts store, then I could get an exchange. Not even 6 months old.....not to impressed!
