Ah! The Roman Agent...and education of politics and news media
I got this as a gift for my kid's history teacher because the Roman agent is a great primer for how easy it is to spread a rumour and watch politicians and the lemming public get worked up. It was worth buying three stories than just the one. I remember being introduced to Asterix when I was in the 5th grade, using it as a creative lit class project, and loving it ever since. As I got older, and re-read it, I would catch the word play and cultural references (Hilarious!!). It does play to racial stereotypes, but considering it was written back in the 40s or 50s...yeah, that was a different generation.

They are well written and beautifully illustrated, witty and very entertaining
I read these comics as a child over and over again. They are well written and beautifully illustrated, witty and very entertaining. The story follows the members of a small village in Gaul whom resist the Roman Empire by virtue of a super-strengthening potion brewed by their druid Getafix. The heros of the stories are Asterix ( a short, but smart warrior) and his best friend Obelix ( a large, boar meat loving, loyal but not smart warrior whom fell in a cauldron of magic potion as a child and as a result has permanent super strength). You can read each comic seperately and be able to follow the story, though certain characters do repeat throughout the series. I am buying them again as an adult and enjoying them just as much as I did as a kid. I definitely recommend these comics.

Excellent comics, especxially for 8-10yo boys, can learn so many things about the Romans 50 BC
Excellent comics, especxially for 8-10yo boys, can learn so many things about the Romans 50 BC. The main character is a Gaul, Asterix, and he travels with his friends and dog all over Europe, even Egypt (Cleopatra), so interesting, funny and full of real facts.

Very good comic book
Any of Asterix & Obelix books which we read already always bring back memories when we were young to read when we were living in Saigon, Republic of Viet-Nam then.

Interesting funny, but not as good as the others
his collection of three Asterix stories is funny, but not to par in terms of interest and cultural content. Ho-hum.

Asterix reminds me of being a kid...
There is nothing like getting 3 Asterix comix in one album. Once you are done with the first one, you have 2 more to read ;-) The books are great quality, and my kids and I fight over who gets to read it first. Love that my kids can enjoy this like I did when I was younger. Now, we just have to wait for Omnibus #6 to come out.
