Room for improvement
There are no instructions in the box that tell you how to use the phone mount/how to even use the monocular with your phone, so you have to figure that one out yourself. You need to screw the cap that has a hole in the center onto the narrow elbow piece that has a slot on one side. The cap goes only on one way and needs a little prodding to finally screw in. The monocular will then fit into the opening but has no support at all and more or less dangles unless you hold onto it rather firm. Do not extend the eye piece, it has to remain flush with the monocular in order to get any picture at all. You need to clip the phone mount onto your phone below all the phone buttons , and if you want to mount the flimsy tripod you need to make sure that the screw hole faces down as you clip your phone into the holder. It helps to first screw the arm into the holder with the provided screw and line up the hole in the cap with your phone's camera lens. Then righten the screw and stick the monocular in with the adjustment knob facing up. Turn on the camera and now it is fiddle time to get the monocular lined up and focused. I will find a better tripod for his task to free my hands for holding the monocular against the lens.My monocular has a speck of dirt inside the optics which is extremely irritating and speaks of questionable quality control. Granted, this is not a high end piece, and it does do a good job pulling objects in quite closely as you can see in the attached pictures. But the smudge is very visible on both the paver and the face of the Buddha statue. The concept is great, but I would pay another $10 or more if the mount were more secure and the optics were clean.Due to the wobble which is unavoidable due to the monocular's weight I can only give it three starrs, but I have to subtract another star for the dirt inside the optics.

Cheap but somewhat functional, phone attachment steps
As others have pointed out, the focus isn't like what's shown in the Amazon photos. It's sharp in the middle and quite fuzzy towards the edges. That's OK for many uses, including birdwatching. The general construction is fairly sound. The focus adjustment is smooth. A weak point is the eye piece adjustment, which is loose enough to allow dust into the body of the monocular. If you leave it in its closed-in position that may not be a problem. The purpose of that eye piece adjustment escapes me. It's not a diopter adjustment. The Amazon description mysteriously says it excludes extraneous light, but it doesn't affect that either.Minimum focus is about 11 feet. The phone clip is basic but works well enough if you're careful. There are four installation steps in the Amazon description, the first of which is "assemble phone clip," which isn't very helpful. It's not too hard to figure out, though. The round piece of plastic with a hole in it screws into the hole in the long piece with a slot in it. The little knob with a screw sticking out screws into the hole in the middle of the phone holder. That's the assembly. You can adjust the angle and length to fit the phone. The phone holder is a spring-loaded clip; one end pulls outward to fit the phone.Baronage is a trademark owned by a company in China, but it has little trace in this country. Z-Zabulon, which is the company selling this, seems to be just starting up at Amazon but is otherwise also unknown here.

Nice inexpensive choice for a scope
I received this scope with the chance to use and review it.1. What's in the box?: You receive the scope itself (which is a straight ahead type monocular model, plus goodies. The goodies are a small tripod for a table top (emphasize small), an adapter for placing your phone on the scope to take pictures, an adapter to put a hand strap, some cleaning cloths and a nice little note thanking you for the purchase, plus a carrying bag.2. Set-up?: I wanted to place this on an actual tripod and that was easy to do with the adapter once I figured out to remove the screw in on the scope. The adapter for the phone works pretty well, though it is a bit of a struggle when using a plus sized phone. It works, but it strains the adapter, which should be made bigger.3. Use?: For the price point, the scope's optics are better than I expected. The focus is simple enough to operate and works very well. As would be expected you can see a good distance, but the farther you go the worse the optics are. IF I am looking miles I can certainly see pretty well, though it is not quite as sharp as you might expect from a more expensive scope. However, I don't think you can beat this for the price point. Also, for birding or looking hundreds of yards, these are pretty darn good. Unbelievably good in fact.Overall: For the money, these are great and are well worth getting as long as you understand particularly in optics you get what you pay for. However, the overall build, attachments and good use mean this is a very good product.
