You can probably build without a team
I’m in love with my new compost tumbler— and you don’t really need three people to assemble it, just four hours of dedicated focus. It’s something a sturdy female with a penchant for building can do. I made a few mistakes along the way, but nothing I couldn’t undo. It is currently working on the first batch, and by all indications is doing well. I’m not sure where I was supposed to use the six washers I had left over…

Dirt falls out.
Dirt falls out when you spin the containers, making a mess every time you do. And that is everyday.

Great if the latches were better
For the first six months, these are great. They're big. They're pretty easy to turn. Then the steel latch mechanisms inside the balls rust shut and you can't open them. If you are diligent and spray them down with WD-40 on a regular basis, and don't mind the WD-40 in your compost, they'll last longer. In fact, they might last until six or ten months later when the latches that keep the balls from spinning rust and fail. If these parts were all made of plastic, these would be my favorite composters.

Good, but not great
Works well but the handles do not close easily. The idea behind easy flipping of the compost is great, however you get the liquid pouring out as you turn it. if you don't mind getting a bit gooey then this is a great beginners tumbler.

Great composter and well engineered.
This is a well engineered product, but you will need to be handy to assemble it. The stand could be a little higher, so you could dump compost into a wheel barrel.

Challenging Assembly but Worth It In The End!
This was one of the most challenging assemblies of a product I have ever encountered. Once completed though, I had a great feeling of accomplishment. For the most part, the directions to assemble this were easy to follow. The parts are labeled which helped tremendously. One could easily intermix the parts if one wasn't careful and then find yourself taking a lot more time to disassemble and start over. To start, each of the tumblers had 6 sides which had to be assembled in a particular order. It took some doing to slid these pieces together. I had to use a rubber mallet to pound these pieces in place even after using (Pam Cooking Spray) along the edges. Once those were completed came the corner clips. I had a great deal of trouble clipping the corner clips onto the various seams once the larger tumbler components were assembled. I was missing some of these and then to make matters worse, I ended up breaking two of the clips in the process and had to reorder. There is a particular way to place these so as to clip them correctly...Good Luck with your experimenting process. Use of a screw driver was needed to help assist getting these clips into place. This was the most frustrating part of the whole assembly process. I can't recall how many curse words I used during this phase of assembly nor, the amount of breaks I had to take to simply get away from the frustration. . Assembly of the legs to the frame and the tumblers to the frame was also equally challenging. The alignment of parts and the screw holes internally within the tumblers was a bear. I had to loosen and tighten the screws numerous times before they fit together correctly. Once completed, this thing was quite heavy. Sturdy but, heavy. Use of the composter takes some effort to turn the tumblers if there is a large capacity of materials. But, it does what it is supposed to do. It Mixes and it breaks the material down. Having two tumblers makes this process work efficiently. NOTE: The manufacturer (LifeTime Products) was very empathetic and shipped replacement parts without question or, any fees. I received those parts the next day. Compared to the other composting tumblers and devices I researched, this brand and model is still the one I would choose even with the known assembly difficulties I endured.

Nice Product
We have only had this in use for about a month as my husband had a very difficult time putting it together and he had o nly one day a week to work on it. Now that it is together, it appears to be working well. No bug or odor issues. Easy to rotate. Now to see how it holds up with the Texas Hill Country Weather!
