For the price I got it for, I can't complain.
I loved the game before, so I had to finally buy it, still fun though not quite what it used to feel like, but I'm happy, great deal on the game, but it was getting stuck at the same point, but it finally stopped bugging and I got past it, so no worries.

I LOVE This Funky Japanese Based FPS
I was recovering from COD and 007 games and picked up Red Steel not expecting much from this older game. The story is rather silly but secondary to the intriguing variety and creativity of the action involved in carrying out missions. The graphics are supportive of the Japanese based story and background. There is plenty of quirky humor both visual and verbal to help keep you entertained. The periodic sword combat provides some physical challenges and helps break up the shooting actions. I am about two thirds through the game and have been "working" for an hour or two for nearly two months. I am not making very swift progress but find this game play a relaxing yet challenging diversion. I have already ordered Red Steel 2 and look forward to more of this addictive gaming experience. Try it, I think you will like Red Steel.

Great game - Muy buen juego
Hi. Do you like fast first person shooters games, dynamic and with the possibility of use very different types of weapons ? Then this game is for you. Overall it's ok, it can be perfected but it going to give you a good time. Recommended. Recomendado.

A unique experience worth trying
Red Steel usually gets criticized for three things primarily 1) Funny controls 2) Mandatory and Non-Realtime Sword Fights 3) Less than steller graphics 4) Clumsy AI First off, the controls do take about 30 - 45 minutes to get used to, but after that, they work well. There's just something great about pointing the wii-mote at an enemy, and unleashing tons of bullets. Turns aren't as tight as in other FPS's, but the levels are designed with this in mind. Second, the mandatory sword fights are one of those underground honor things, and if you buy into that, their presence is acceptable. It's a shame the sword fights aren't real time, but overall, the execution isn't bad; think turn-based sword fighting. The baddys get better as the game moves on, leading to some satisfying duels. The graphics could be better, and in some polygon filled factory levels, the frame rate does suffer, bring back memories of Golden Eye. This didn't detract too much from the overall fun I had though. The explosions are very well done. Lastly, the AI is a mixed bag. Sometimes the baddys are pretty smart, work in groups, and out-flank you. Other times, they just stand around the corner, waiting for you to shoot them. The sound and music in the game is a strong point, and while some of accents in the game are laughable, the storyline is pretty decent. Overall, this game would be a bargain at $30, a decent buy at $40 dollars, and a reasonable buy at $50, although there might be a couple other titles you buy first. I hope a sequel is in the works, because with some refinement, this game could get five stars.

Excellent customer service
I ordered this as I used to play it ten years ago when it came out and was hoping to bring Back a little nostalgia. I was disappointed that the game would crash every time I tried starting a new file. I contacted the seller letting them know my disappointment but they were very responsive and empathetic and gave me a full refund for the issue. Disappointed about not being able to play it, but 5 stars for the customer service and how polite and apologetic they were. Would recommend trying out other products.

Shoot 'em up with a few twists courtesy of WII technology!
Great game but could be even better. I really like the aspect of the otherwise typical search and destroy adventure game that allows you to point at the screen in the direction you wish to go or look/view. That's unique among games and controllers, courtesy of the unusual WII technology. But it could be even better if it allowed you to attack your enemies, grab items, move them and use them by using those same new abilities unique to WII. In other words, why not allow some form of hand-to-hand combat rather than just shooting the weapons? There may actually be a way to do that I haven't yet figured out, but I don't believe so. Overall an above average game, perhaps a three and a half star.

Innovative is the key to fun.
Although the movie scenes in the game are the only shoddy part the game, there are many innovative characteristics this game includes: the remote is the crossheir on the screen and may be zoomed by moving the contrilling away from the player, and a semi-zoom is halfwayf between the player and the length of his or her arm. At any rate, the movements of the player dicatate what happens to Scott, the main character in Red Steel, and is certainly fun when the player may open doors and shoot a gun as if the player really were shooting a gun and opening doors. The speaker on the remote is exciting to hear when the player may reload the gun. Amazing.

Red Steal!!!
This game is a steal for the price (I didn't misspell the title of my review get it the game is a steal!). It was a launch title for the WII and it has bugs just like any other launch but it is a surprisingly fun game and the graphics could be a heck of a lot worse for being on the WII. If you have a little spare change and are bored with FPS (I am the video game geek hated by video game geeks) then pick this up its great.
